This project concerns a single-family dwelling set on a plot with a steep natural slope and a privileged view over a surrounding landscape rich in vegetation and close to a body of water. The layout of the house takes advantage of the topography, sitting on a partially suspended platform that provides a continuous visual connection with the horizon and subtle integration with the surrounding nature. This coastal Rhode Island home is composed of a series of five structures connected by a continuous raised deck. The clean lines of these gabled forms, which are clad in weathered ipe wood, evoke classic New England barns and boat sheds while striking a modern tone. Located steps from the Atlantic Ocean on Long Island, Surf Shack is a refined interpretation of the suburban American Dream. This project involved the renovation of an existing traditional cottage and the addition of a pool and a guest/pool house. Back to the past, this area was once the domicile of fishermen in Chaosamran Beach Petchaburi. Right back on the first inspection day of the design team, the only thing that barely left here to be seen is the old ruins of the fishing ship. Though, there were only keelson and some parts of planks and floors that they found. With that founding, one of the design team spontaneously burst out the idea of craftmanship art of wooden boat building. The Riviera Beach is the first contemporary public space in the city of Sochi designed by the architectural bureau ab2.0 for the Metropolis company. In the Soviet times, the Riviera beach used to be one of the most popular beaches in Sochi. With time passing by, due to the lack of comfortable walking trails to the cape where the beach is located, its infrastructure got dilapidated. Only local residents from the neighbouring houses, as well some athletes training there, continued coming to this place by force of habit.
