This project concerns a single-family dwelling set on a plot with a steep natural slope and a privileged view over a surrounding landscape rich in vegetation and close to a body of water. The layout of the house takes advantage of the topography, sitting on a partially suspended platform that provides a continuous visual connection with the horizon and subtle integration with the surrounding nature.
The architectural proposal is based on a volumetric composition marked by horizontal lines and overlapping planes, defining a contemporary, minimalist, and elegant language. The large glazed openings play a central role, allowing the fusion between interior and exterior, creating spacious, bright spaces in constant dialogue with the natural surroundings.
In terms of materials, a palette of neutral tones and natural textures was chosen. The facades are finished in pigmented plaster with earthy tones, giving the building a discreet and robust character. The base of the main volume, partially suspended above the ground, is clad in stacked stone, contributing to greater integration with the site and reinforcing the feeling of being anchored to the ground. The outdoor leisure areas are clad in light-colored natural stone, creating visual and material continuity between the interior and exterior spaces.
The functional organization of the house is spread over three floors. The lower floor, which is semi-underground, is presumably intended for technical areas, a garage, or storage, taking advantage of the uneven terrain. The middle floor is the main core of the house, where the social areas such as the living room, dining room, and kitchen are located, arranged in an open space, with direct access to the outdoor terrace and swimming pool. This space provides a fluid and panoramic experience, enhancing direct contact with nature. On the upper floor, set back from the main volume, are the private areas, namely the bedrooms. This volumetric setback ensures greater privacy and protects the lower areas by creating natural shadows.
The project also incorporates principles of sustainability and environmental comfort. The solar orientation has been carefully studied, as has the layout of the windows and eaves, in order to allow adequate shading in the warmer months and sunlight in the colder months. Cross ventilation is ensured by the large openings, while the materials used, such as stone and concrete, offer thermal inertia, ensuring good energy performance throughout the year. The existing vegetation also plays an important role in thermal regulation and in enhancing the landscape of the complex.
In short, this is a contemporary single-family home, marked by its harmonious integration into the land and the surrounding landscape. The project favors transparency, formal simplicity, and spatial continuity, resulting in a balanced, functional, and aesthetically refined proposal that promotes a serene, natural living experience deeply connected to the place.
