At Morgan Creek Estate in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, the architecture defined the lighting solution. The dramatic cathedral ceiling called for a fixture that could occupy the exceptional vertical space while remaining light, refined and visually connected to the warm coastal interior. Working with Herlong Architects + Interiors, we created a custom Sunbeam chandelier composed of 42 handcrafted glass pendants in our White 124 glass. The pendants descend at varying heights through a 16.5-foot drop, creating a sculptural composition above the grand piano and main living space. Two bespoke glass chandeliers were created for an $89M private estate in Beverly Park, Los Angeles, developed by Paradigm Developers. Each installation was designed specifically for the scale, proportions and character of its architectural setting. How to maximize the use of limited space? Both conceptually and visually, differential growth is used as a key element in the bistro. The growth pattern follows a clear mathematical system, even when it appears to be random. This system is based on an algorithm modeled after natural occurrences and simulated using parametric software. The mathematical understanding of growth evolution was used not only for the light installation as the centerpiece, but also for smaller artifacts located on both floors. A similar idea is applied to the interior cladding around the counter. Bringing back the palm trees: an elegant new hotel and public square in the heart of Seville Borgos Pieper has completed a new five-star Radisson Collection hotel and transformed Plaza de la Magdalena in the historic centre of Seville. The LEED Gold project has entirely reinvented two buildings, which together define the western edge of the square: ‘Magdalena’, a former 1960s glass-fronted department store, and ‘Rioja’, a smaller office building bordering Calle Rioja.
