Located in the heart of Yerevan, Amar restaurant lands in the middle of the Hrazdan canyon. We designed and built this restaurant back in 2020; it was totally open-air, which is why it was operating during several months of the year. Soon we had to redesign the entire restaurant, enlarge it, and enclose it under a roof to enable year-round operation. The rich greenery of the valley served as a cornerstone for us, upon which we built the restaurant concept. "Yellow Cell Office" is an office-commercial building in the Saadat Abad neighborhood of Tehran city. The gross built area of the building is 21000 square meters. This project was referred to Cedrus Studio as a limited competition. The objective of the competition is to redesign and rehabilitate an existing structure. Tasked with designing and project managing the complete refurbishment and extension of a 5-bedroom family home, the stand-out element of the project was the visually-striking open plan kitchen-dining and entertainment space at the rear of the property. The focus was on blending the relationship between the garden and the interior, to reflect the homeowner’s outdoor lifestyle. Charlie Round-Turner Large glazed sliding doors were installed along the length of the back wall, a living wall established to blend inside and out, and extra light was brought into the space through the use of two half-barrel-vaulted sedum roofs. This design is formulated as a system that represents a hybrid structure of what is architectural and what is natural, balancing the daily needs of humans with structure. The system aims to resemble systems in nature, so that the building interacts with its surroundings and creates a coherent ecosystem from a set of elements and systems that interact with the architectural composition. Caption This house is designed to form an open novel, with each corner of the house forging a new story every day, and new opportunities to explore. That makes these corners a vocabulary for dialogue and communication between inside and outside.
