Hi, I’m Ryan, founder of Enraciné. My parents live in an apartment with a modest, cozy entrance—about 1.80 × 3.80 m—a space that does what many entrances do: it distributes movement. A corridor, four doors (including the main entrance), switches, and wiring all converge there. Like most such spaces, it was never designed to host furniture—only to pass through it. Over the years, they tried to fit several pieces into this entrance, but one area remained unresolved: a 70 × 150 cm corner, constrained by doors and openings. It became what architects often call a dead corner—unused, yet unavoidable. What they knew for sure was simple: they needed extra storage for a modest collection of books.... More

This office space has a simple built-in desk with plain overhead floating shelves - solid and voids, providing plenty of storage while maintaining a sleek profile. The client required a parking space on the ground floor and the installation of an elevator that connected all the floors of the house. The defined strategy is to place the stairs along the dividing wall, freeing the floor and turning it into a single open and bright space. The bioclimatic strategy of this house is to achieve good cross ventilation in the living plants, as well as to guarantee good adaptive sun protection with the installation of adjustable slat blinds. It is committed to an air conditioning system with maximum energy efficiency, as well as solar and photovoltaic panels for the production of hot water and electricity. All the public and semi-public office spaces were demolished and re-designed from scratch, around the concept of 'interaction'. The rest of the space received a superficial treatment to in order to maintain a coherent look & feel. The goal was to create a liberating and inspiring work environment.A seating area is the focal point of the entrance space where large seating furniture are accompanied by a big bookcase, a TV and an and inviting blackboard.The round, glass meeting room is both, a separation and a means for directing the users' movement toward the socially-central dining area.The intended dynamic atmosphere is supported by the graphics on the wall, the color choices and the flow of space. Photography: Amit Goshe...
