Triangles House

Triangles House is being built on a site in Nova Lima (MG, Brazil) where there are no native plants: the land is a forest of eucalyptus and casuarina trees with grass and ornamental plants. The house has three bedrooms and, like our Cerrado House, has a swimming pool on the terrace that serves as a roof for the veranda. The parti of the house is quite simple, a rectangle. However, the purity of the rectangular geometry is broken by two elements: the two staircases leading to the terrace. They function as diagonals that divide the rectangular box, generating triangular and trapezoidal geometries and inviting the user to climb up to the terrace-pool esplanade. While seeking to explore the plasticity of basic architectural elements, the proj... More

Japanese House II

Japanese House II is a private villa located on Phra Tamnak Hill in Pattaya, Thailand, approximately 150 meters from the coastline. Designed by architect Mario Kleff, the residence explores the relationship between architecture and structure through a restrained palette of exposed concrete and long-span structural elements. Mario Kleff Home owner 2023 The house is built on an 800 m² plot and is organized across three levels connected by an internal elevator. A basement level accommodates parking, storage, and building systems, while the main residential floors contain five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a sequence of living spaces that extend toward outdoor terraces and a swimming pool. The upper floor forms the social core o... More

AER house

Situated near a sparse forest with intriguing vistas over the suburbs of Nicosia, this house stands in a deliberately ambiguous way: Rather than adopting a conventional residential typology that opens outward to offer uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape, it rises as an austere, introverted box. Is it a building, a sculpture or a container? The architectural proposal constitutes a systematic elaboration of the primordial dwelling-box and its reinterpretation in relation to contemporary modes of domestic living. Caption Caption Caption The design begins with a three-dimensional grid - a lattice of points forming the rudimentary outline of a box with a 14×17 meters plan. Fragments of the natural landscape gra... More

Casa Tao

Some houses are not designed—they are remembered. Casa Tao was not born from a technical drawing, but from the silent memory of those who inhabit it. It is a house that does not seek to respond to an image, but to a life. Or rather: to a way of living.  Gustavo grew up in a humble house made more of effort than of materials. The son of farmers and craft merchants—people with rough hands and generous eyes—who, though their studies were prematurely interrupted, managed to instill in him a desire to understand the world. He grew up in Puerto Vallarta, a place on the Pacific coast of Mexico, where sun and humidity define the rhythm of the days, and where shade is not an accident, but a precious asset—a true refuge.... Concrete Collage

At Collage Architects, we adeptly navigate the intersection of design philosophy and budgetary constraints, embodying a pragmatic yet innovative approach to architecture. Confronted with the challenges of limited space and budget fluctuations, we embraced creative solutions to realize our vision. Witsawarut Kekina Our endeavor commenced with the recognition that traditional construction methodologies were inadequate for our proposed three-story office edifice on a confined 82-square-meter plot in Soi Ratchadaphisek 32, Bangkok. The spatial constraints and adjacent structures presented significant logistical challenges, necessitating the adoption of a post-tension structure. This deviation from conventional post-and-lintel systems faci... More

Chernyi Coffeeroasters

When we rented the premises the builders were already knocking out old historical bricks. We have asked to keep them to use at the cash register allowing each cafe guest to touch the hundred-year`s history.  This is the memory of the place that along with its history was crucial The basic purpose of a coffee shop is to be a place where you can grab your morning coffee to-go, have a meeting or stop for breakfast. Ilya Ivanov Ilya Ivanov Our coffee shop has three zones: 1. The buffer zone between the street and the cafe. We see this part as a city square and that is why there is no classic seating with tables. Here we have placed plywood cubes, benches and tall concrete cylinder shaped columns for the guests to stand by for... More

Bihoma

At the express request of the client, a multipurpose space is conceived with the capacity to grow together or be divided into different environments depending on the needs. The design started from the repetition of the same concrete basic geometric figure, independent by itself, massive, almost cubical that housed each one of the activities. It is placed or stacked according to an ordering based on the program. These prisms, through, are conceived heavy, in concrete, emphasizing the inalterability of natural routes, caves or cavities, which surprise by ending in unexpected places, in this case in a terraced square. Caption The design grows through successive stacking and movement in plan, thus achieving a dynamic set of volumes in ke... More

Cubes Aleorion Lighthouse Project

The Cubes Aleorion is a proposal for a lighthouse at the port of Volos, located at the innermost point of the Pagasetic Gulf  and standing at the end of the 1 km long breakwater, commonly called by the locals as “kordoni” (lace or cord). Aleorion [etym. < anc. Greek: ἀλεωρή “avoidance, to avoid”] is a navigation mark to show reefs or other hazards. It is a modern interpretation of what is considered to have been the oldest known lighthouse. Inspiration for the Cubes Aleorion was the so-called Aleorion of Xerxes, built around 480 BC and once stood on the reef “Lefteris”, in the middle of the sea passage between Skiathos island and mount Pelion in central Greece. Remnants o... More

Blade

More than a pouf, Blade is an artwork. For the first time the continuous search for new materials led to a new application for concrete, a non-conventional artist’s choice that gave form and shape to an object worthy of being in a contemporary art gallery. The concrete is molded, entirely by hand, thus giving the legs an amorphous design. The uneven surface elegantly contrasts the gold or glossy chrome metal finish of the seat. Blade is a complement intended for consumers always looking for unique pieces. More
