Perched on the edge of a dramatic volcanic precipice, this villa extension re-establishes a conversation between architecture and topography. The original home had been burdened by a failing 1980s addition—elevated four metres above the ground, disconnected from the surrounding landscape and mature tree canopy below. Located in the heart of a district undergoing renewal, the Philippe Auguste Middle School was built in the late 1970s and now shows significant technical and functional deterioration. In response, the Val-d’Oise Department has launched an extensive restructuring and extension program. Charly Broyez To accommodate the growing number of students, a new cafeteria is housed in an independent building. This frees space in the main building for additional teaching rooms. In a quiet residential street of Montréal-Nord, an existing six-plex has been transformed and extended to house two group homes for children aged 6 to 12.
