La Primavera House is located in the rural area of Calera de Tango, in Chile’s Metropolitan Region. Set on a 20,000 m² flat site, the project consists of a single-level family residence with a built area of 650 m². Nicolás Saieh Constructed entirely in exposed reinforced concrete, the house features exterior walls that appear to float over the surrounding vegetation or the reflecting pool that accompanies the entrance. These elements are both expressive and functional—serving to shield the home from prevailing winds and create visual screens between interior spaces. The Casa Canal, located in Quebrada Onda, Frutillar, in the Los Lagos Region, is set in a rural environment characterized by its rainy climate and open landscapes that invite contemplation. This project, covering 255 square meters of built space, combines functionality, sustainability, and a profound connection with the natural surroundings. Located within a dense forest in southern Chile, near the city of Puerto Varas, this residential project takes shape as a compact volume elevated on arched foundations that help minimize contact with the ground while emphasizing the intersection between two dissimilar horizontal planes. Primeriza House is located on a small clearing of an otherwise heavily sloped terrain with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean to the front and a strong backdrop of almost vertical slope densely populated by cypress trees. From this majestic environment, a volume begins to be designed, which revolves around two themes: the view and the quest to maximize sunlight. Located in the Llanquihue Lake basin, the project is immersed in an extensive slope of green fields and vestiges of an agricultural past. The sheds that are still preserved, give a touch of melancholy that maintains the tradition and history of colonization in the area, and that together with the view of the lake and volcanoes, becomes the main premise of the project.   An essential part of the project was to find a balance between these elements and maintain the morphology of the terrain, perching on a metal structure that transmits the quality of the stage and at the same time focuses on the daily comfort of its inhabitants. Its surroundings and topography are contextualized with the climate, so that the intense vegetation and shades of green surround it, leaving only a clear space that opens the view towards the wetlands and the Cruces river. Under these conditions, a house was sought that does not impact the environment and that blends into the intense vegetation, maintaining fluidity and the interior-exterior connection without being knocked down by the wind. The commission is simple: a house with two rooms and a common space of a few square meters. The budget, as well as the material and labour resources in the area, are limited. The project is located in the bay of Quinched, Isla Grande de Chiloé, in southern Chile, 1,200 km from Santiago. The wooden churches and the stilt houses covered with wood shingles and corrugated tin of different colours are part of the identity of the territory.   The solution is also simple: The house is designed with the construction logic and materials of the area where it is located. The requirement was a building that would accommodate an artist’s studio and residential space for occasional use as a weekend house. The 1.500 sqm site is located in Peñalolén, a suburban district with low construction density, and neighbors some undeveloped sites. This condition leaves the building very exposed to its surroundings, so the client required that the project would limit the exposure of the interior spaces and provide privacy. At the site, in a private community in La Dehesa, is possible to appreciate a mountain landscape and an environment with plenty native vegetation. The site dimensions are slack for the program needs and rooms for a house of 500m2. Allocation decisions set the house on two stories and in a constant recognition of the width and depth of field of the site. The ground floor determines the program in transversal stripes of use, where the first includes bedrooms, living rooms and study rooms of children, and the second, common use areas, dining room and main living room.
