Albeda Rotterdam The Hague Airport College

Albeda Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA) will open her doors in the school year 2020-2021. The airport itself will play an active role in the development of the curriculum, allowing students to get as close to their professions as possible. The building concept was developed through a series of workshops in close cooperation with educators. This resulted in a mix of traditional classrooms and flexible, open spaces that are enriched with eye catchers from a wide variety of aviation mock-ups.  Both the interior and exterior were designed by the team of BSA Wim de Bruijn. The whole building has been designed with sustainability in mind. The steel supporting structure is completely circular and solar panels on the roof supply the facilit... More

City Council Education Service

Thanks to its central position on the Leien – the inner ring road – the building for the headquarters of the city council’s education service is located beside one of Antwerp’s core structural urban design elements and traffic arteries. The design, which comprises the complete reconversion of an existing 1970s office block, seeks to connect – despite the anomalous morphology of the existing structure – with the historic buildings along the Leien. This is achieved via a subtle three-part intervention – plinth, middle section and superstructure – and an intermediate cornice that matches the height of the adjoining buildings. The building has a public floor with a reception area, learning centr... More

Triodos Bank

The natural surroundings of the Estate were considered during the development of the new office. The design and construction are centred around principles of nature and biomimicry. Biomimetic architecture seeks solutions for sustainability in nature by following its set of principles and using it as a model, taking inspiration from natural designs and processes. Building heights have been adjusted to remain below the treeline. Bat flight routes were respected, and a special light plan was developed to prevent disorientation and to protect fauna. The energy-neutral building consists of sustainable materials and a demountable, wood-hybrid construction, which was designed by Rau Architects and constructed by JP van Eesteren... The Green House

In 2014 cepezed was commissioned to make a modern government office from the former Knoopkazerne on the Croeselaan in Utrecht. The Central Government Real Estate Company also requested a solution for the space between the Knoopkazerne and the adjacent head office of Rabobank. Because a definitive destination for this location will be decided in fifteen years, a temporary interpretation was sought that could make the area that would otherwise remain vacant, more lively. cepezed developed a plan in which both the function and the architecture are based on circularity. The Green House accommodates a ‘circular’ restaurant concept plus meeting facilities. In accordance with the principles of circularity, the building (including the foundati... More
