IRTAS GETAWAY

Irtas Getaway – Space is a private retreat conceived as a quiet architectural escape embedded within the natural landscape of Irtas. The project explores the relationship between architecture, topography, water, and the surrounding agricultural landscape, creating a sequence of spaces that gradually transition between interior and exterior. The house is organized around a series of low, pavilion-like volumes with pitched roofs, allowing the architecture to respond to the scale and character of the site. A central outdoor environment connects the different functions, while terraces and stepped levels follow the existing slope rather than opposing it. iaarchitects A small swimming pool is positioned at the edge of the terrain, ex... Portuguese White Rustic Limestone Irregular Natural Split

Portuguese White Rustic Limestone is a natural limestone sourced from selected quarries in Central Portugal. Each piece is individually selected, creating an irregular composition with natural variations in shape, texture and warm beige tones. The stone features a natural split face that preserves its authentic mineral character, while the sawn flat back facilitates installation and allows the material to be used as natural stone cladding for both contemporary and traditional architecture. Suitable for exterior façades, garden and boundary walls, interior feature walls, villas, hospitality and landscape projects. The irregular format allows architects and installers to create distinctive masonry compositions, from refined faç... More

Selva Houses

Selva houses explore the possibility of reconciling everyday urban life with a more immediate experience of nature. Located in Alto de Pinheiros, one of São Paulo’s traditional garden neighborhoods, the project comprises eight detached houses conceived as individual dwellings immersed in a continuous landscape. The architecture is organized around the presence of vegetation, treated not as a backdrop but as an active part of the spatial experience. Developed in collaboration with the landscape designer Caterina Poli, the garden introduces native species around the swimming pool, along the circulation areas, and into the visual field of the interiors, reinforcing the sense of living within a planted environment. Nancy Opera Culture House

There are cities that are not written in street grids but in cultural vibrations. Nancy is one such city. Its history is not merely a sequence of centuries but a musical manuscript, in which landscape, infrastructure, and architecture form the staves of a grander score. At the heart of this symphonic topography arises the project of the Opera and Concert Hall, gently inscribed into the urban fabric by TCA. This gesture is not to be imagined as heroic, but rather what Roland Barthes might have called a light touch—a cultural movement that does not shout, but hums. tuncer cakmakli architects   What takes shape here is not mere architecture—it is translation. A translation of a landscape continuity—parks, waterwa... More

Hang House

Set on a narrow 5 × 27 m urban plot, the house occupies only 5 × 15 m, deliberately leaving a significant portion of the site unbuilt. Rather than maximizing the building footprint, the design uses these open areas to bring daylight, greenery and natural ventilation deep into the house. Minh Quốc Bùi Minq Bui Minh Quốc Bùi Minh Quốc Bùi The long plan is organized as a sequence of connected living spaces, gardens and voids. Large openings, a skylight and planted courtyards reduce the sense of depth typical of Vietnamese townhouses, while creating changing qualities of light throughout the day. Common areas remain visually connected, encouraging interaction between family members while mai... More

Adentro House

Located on an approximately 5,000 m2 site in Lagoa Santa, near Belo Horizonte, the house begins with a central question: how can an extensive program be accommodated on a densely wooded plot while preserving as much of the existing vegetation as possible? The answer emerged from reading the voids between the trees. Rather than first defining the shape of the building, the project sought to identify the available spaces on the site and understand where the architecture could be inserted. From this logic, a continuous rectangular circulation path was created, organizing almost the entire house on a single level and connecting the different spaces of the program. Vancouver Cultural Precinct

The bold vision for a new performing arts district in downtown Vancouver was initiated by the Vancouver Cultural Precinct, led by the Vancouver Concert Hall and Theatre Society. Developed through a two-year feasibility study guided by Diamond Schmitt, the proposal responds to a growing gap between the city’s cultural vitality and the venues available to support it. Shaped through consultation with 32 performing arts organizations, the vision proposes four acoustic-first venues designed to serve Vancouver’s full performing arts ecology: an approximately 400-seat small hall, an 850-seat flexible mid-sized hall, a 1,750-seat concert hall, and a 2,000-seat proscenium theatre with an orchestra pit. Together, they would support... More

Centre Haselstauden Dornbirn

Two new buildings, which share a square shape but vary in height, complement the neighbouring church, technical school and elementary school to create a balanced new architectural ensemble. The precise placement of the new buildings develops distinctive, well-proportioned outdoor spaces which define a village square as the new centre of the district. The two square volumes help to create order in the heterogeneous environment. There are three reasons for the staggered positioning: creating views, giving each building a recognisable face, and ensuring easy access from Haselstauderstraße. Txai Bungalow

Located in Itacaré, on the southern coast of Bahia, Txai Bungalow occupies an elevated slope facing the sea. From the site, the view opens almost 180 degrees over the ocean, above the existing palm and coconut trees. Isolated in the middle of nature, the house is organized through a direct relationship with the topography, the vegetation, and the climate. Lupércio Fotografia Lupércio Fotografia Lupércio Fotografia Lupércio Fotografia In this place, what matters is shade. The seawater, the coconut trees, and the light filtered through their leaves guided the main design decisions. Tejo Turmequé

Located on a northern avenue in Bogotá, surrounded by commercial and gastronomic activity, this project called Tejo Turmequé developed by Cabida Arquitectura converts a parking warehouse into a sports facility for tejo, a traditional Colombian sport. The existing structure had a low ground floor, poor daylight access, and insufficient passive ventilation. The intervention addresses these limitations by improving spatial quality and daylighting, while preserving cultural heritage and reusing the space by adapting it to current needs.   Simón Bosch Caption ❌︎ Remove Applied Products block will be inserted here   Adaptive reuse and spatial organisation This project applies principles of co...
