Modern Condo

Our clients wanted to completely remodel and refresh their three-story condo following principles of Feng Sui. There were curves in the ceiling of the great room that were existing. We kept it because the clients liked the asymmetry of it. Keeping it also kept to amount of change to a minimum. So we worked with it!  JMAD JMAD JMAD JMAD We completely ripped out the stair and redid the whole staircase with an open tread system so that when you walk into the home, you have this sense of being brought all the way in and not being stopped at the stairs.  JMAD JMAD JMAD JMAD Our clients wanted dramatic lighting throughout, so we have a lot of lights that beam down, making it feel a little... Bay Street Condo

The interior of this 1990’s condo was gutted and completely reconfigured with a contemporary design that juxtaposes a refined palette of oak, stone and steel with the exposed raw concrete structure of the base building. Tom Arban Photography Inc. Tom Arban Photography Inc. A one bedroom + den corner unit, the main living space has dramatic views onto Bay Street in downtown Toronto. The original configuration had an inefficient layout that had not been altered since the building was built, with an entry foyer and hallway at 45 degrees to the rest of the unit that created awkward angles between the different rooms. ERA

Era’s design reflects a moment of contemplation in the architecture of the Upper West Side. It’s contextual at the street level, using traditional materials like limestone in a modern way. The small footprint at the base of the building increases as it grows in height, resulting in an elegant tower on the north end of the neighborhood. Deep windows with elegant and timeless mullions blend seamlessly into the surroundings, but upon closer review, you see these windows are much larger than average for the area, inviting more natural light into the space and opening the building up to the surrounding views. The bones are still that of a classic masonry tower, but we’ve titled the frame to achieve the effect of a refined build... More
