Miyan Khaneh

Miyan Khaneh is the redesign of a 210-square-meter apartment within a tower characterized by a continuous glass façade. One of the first challenges we identified was this transparent and continuous façade; while it offered the residents the possibility of framing the city, parts of it had been occupied by interior functions, furniture, and kitchen cabinetry. Our first decision was to de-functionalize the transparent façade—to free it from the functions that occupied its edge. The kitchen was moved away from the floor-to-ceiling windows and relocated toward the center of the house, allowing the glazed corners and views of the city to be returned to the residents. Apartment ZM

Transforming an existing home means working with a context that already has its own structure, materials and history. In Apartment ZM, designed by architect Anna Paszkowska-Thurow from ANNA THUROW Architecture and interiors studio, the challenge was to adapt a 118-square-metre, two-level apartment for a mother and daughter returning to their family home. The project focused on balancing continuity and change — preserving what was valuable while adapting the interior to their contemporary needs. Anna Paszkowska-Thurow The most significant transformation took place in the living area. The kitchen was completely redesigned to create a more ergonomic layout, with extended worktops, increased storage and an additional space for infor... More

Herol

Context and Concept Perched at around 1,600 meters above sea level in the tranquil heights of Lüsen, the Herolerhof residential project is conceived less as an object and more as a stance: a gesture of respect for place, history, and nature. The architecture avoids contrast, seeking instead a subtle continuation of the familiar. Inspired by the traditional farmhouses of the Eisack Valley, the building presents a clear, articulated form: a white-plastered ground floor, larch-clad upper levels, and classic pitched roofs with dark coverings. Contemporary touches - frameless glazing, precise metal railings, and refined details - enhance rather than dominate, merging old and new into a harmonious whole. Alex Filz Alex Filz Integr... More

Art Fort

On a steeply sloped, forested site in the Kerhonkson area, this project, designed by Studio MM, pllc serves as a primary residence and also a studio space for an accomplished local painter. The programmatic brief required a highly functional workspace, residential quarters capable of hosting guests, and an accessible layout for ageing in place. Optimal daylighting and dedicated storage for tools and painting materials were primary requirements. The spatial organisation necessitated a physical demarcation between residential and professional areas. Perforated Plane House

In one of Chennai's fastest-developing Sub-urban areas, we had the unique opportunity to design a house on a rare, open plot, creating a pierced plane of open space within the fully gown urban fabric. This east-facing plot, measuring 40'x70', stood out as one of the few remaining vacant lands in the area. Our design ethos was inspired by the plot's distinctive position, transforming the concept of a "pierced plane" into a "perforated plane house." The façade and interior spaces evolved from this idea, aiming to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment while offering a serene ambiance. T House

This home in a quiet leafy corner of Sushant Lok,Gurgaon was built to respond to the presence of a beautiful Alistonia tree. The form of the home steps back from the ground upwards to create decks and terraces that overlook the garden and tree on every level.Since the plot faces a  park this ensures that there is a verdant view from each room. The study cantilevers out into the garden to shelter under the tree canopy and create a beautiful indoor-outdoor experience in the interior. The exterior of the home features a pared down materiality with a grey toned facade which explores the textures of limestone, bronze Aluminum and timber tones. The focus is on creepers and greenery to add life and colour to the facade so the home connects with th... Clay House

When Studio 163 were approached to transform this ground floor one bedroom flat in Kentish Town into a bright and modern two bedroom flat, it was a very dark and damp space which lacked flow and visual connection. Caption The bedroom and bathroom were both at the rear of the property with the kitchen and living room space at the front. This created the awkward result of having to walk through the bedroom to reach the garden. Caption It was very important to the architects that the new space reflect the character of the client and her way of living - to create a space for entertaining and socializing as well as a peaceful garden for this aspiring landscape designer. She was also very mindful about repurposing what she had and mak... More

Concrete House Warszawa

The site is located at the northern outskirts of Warsaw, in a wooded area, the nearest neighborhood is not yet developed. The house design had to be energy-efficient and easy to maintain, made of durable materials. Tomasz Woźniczka The building was designed according to passive construction schemes - maximally closed on the north side and open with a living area and children's bedrooms to the south. The building is constructed as a 2-storey cuboid,  only the necessary elements were added: a canopy over the entrance, canopies over the glass facades protecting against excessive heating of the interior.A concrete shell in a three-layer wall was proposed for the facades as the most durable and maintenance-free finish. House in Wrocław Karłowice

The house was designed on a small, narrow plot in Wroclaw's Karłowice district. With the scale and character of the body  the house refers to the dominant buildings on its street - the so-called “Cubes” from the 1970s.   Krzysztof Smyk Caption Krzysztof Smyk Krzysztof Smyk The idea for the unusual arrangement of functions and related openings in the south and north facades resulted mainly from unfavorable orientation of the plot in relation to sunlight. The plot meets the street with its southern border and the garden is on the northern side.  Krzysztof Smyk Krzysztof Smyk Krzysztof Smyk Kuba Woźniczka In order to provide bright spaces in the interiors of the ope... Casa Z

The house project has a trend of alternating turns. This planimetric setting simultaneously favors the movement of the user and the interpenetration of internal and external space. giorgio pasqualini giorgio pasqualini The organization of the space, which is critical of the concept of open space, provides for a subdivision of the functional areas with devices ranging from sliding panels to fixed and mobile furnishings to structural elements. Each area is recognizable and welcoming even within a large-sized whole. On the other hand, the space appears further expanded by the presence of mirrors, reflective ceiling portions and dividers that do not reach the ceiling. giorgio pasqualini giorgio pasqualini Moving forward be...
