OZ House embodies the concept of crafted comfort - the intersection of where artisanship meets sustainability. OZ House embraced this ethos through a seamless blending of contemporary architecture style with timeless techniques. Custom inverted U-shaped windows frame curated views of the garden, transforming them into living artwork and establishing a strong indoor-outdoor dialogue. This holistic approach—grounded in spatial logic, material richness, and sensory layering—defines the project’s identity.
OZ House reimagined traditional residential architecture by integrating handcrafted precision with a lifestyle-forward, highly tailored plan. Innovation in this project lies not in technological spectacle, but in the seamless orchestration of space, material, and function—creating a refined living experience attuned to both emotional and practical needs. The design was executed using a palette of natural and tactile materials. Handcrafted details, artisanal joinery, and custom-designed furniture pieces reflect a deep respect for craftsmanship. Every surface and junction was custom-conceived to foster a sense of refined comfort.
The primary design challenge was to accommodate a complex program without compromising openness or flow. From hidden service routes to integrated staff areas and dual kitchen zones, the spatial organization solves logistical needs while preserving aesthetic continuity. Every transition—between public and private zones, indoor and outdoor, utility and comfort—is designed to be intuitive and elegant.
Another key innovation is the architectural framing of nature. The custom U-shaped window modules not only open the interior to light and landscape, but also establish a rhythmic visual dialogue that replaces conventional wall hierarchies with layered transparency. This allows the garden to become an ever-changing canvas throughout the day.
Spatial flow was a key principle in the project and a one of the client's desires in the project. Mosaic flooring and wall details extending from the veranda into the living areas reinforced a sense of continuity and established a visual rhythm that connects the inside with the outside. This seamless transition enhanced the home’s openness without compromising intimacy, while lighting, textures, and tones were carefully orchestrated to balance utility and ambiance. From expansive living spaces to more secluded corners, each area maintains a distinct atmosphere yet contributes to a unified architectural language, with even utilitarian zones—like the kitchen and fitness area—designed with the same rigor and sensibility.
Moreover, the design process prioritized hand-craftsmanship as a method of innovation—where each furniture piece, light fixture, and surface treatment was custom-developed to support the spatial narrative. This bespoke, human-centric approach challenges the idea that innovation must be digital or industrial, proving instead that mastery and originality in the artisanal realm can redefine luxury living.
Ultimately, OZ HOUSE achieved the client's brief while also reflecting a central tenet of SAVATLI Architects’ philosophy: creating living spaces that are elevated yet grounded, rich in material depth yet calm in spirit – and always tailored to contemporary life.
