Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre
Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre has received a New Zealand Institute of Architects’ (Te Kāhui Whaihanga) national award (in the category of Public Architecture. Held annually, this awards program recognises the best architecture produced in New Zealand within a given year, with 2023 recognising 31 projects across 12 categories.

Morphosis completes titanium clad convention center alongside the Yangtze river
Morphosis was inspired by the flowing curves of the Yangtze river that were echoed in the undulating roof. The titanium roof paneling refers to sunlight shimmering on the water surface.

The building program is divided into a horizontal conference center and a vertical hotel tower with 340 rooms overlooking the river. The site’s boundaries shape the building’s wavelike form.

The north side of the tower, facing the city, utilizes a metal brise-soleil system that shades the building during the day and integrated lighting lights up in the evening.

Chungnam International Convention Centre
10 Design, in collaboration with D&B Architecture Design Group, conceived a scheme for The Chungnam International Convention Centre in South Korea. The proposal seeks to establish a masterplan for future exhibition space, which considers its urban context as well as Covid safety measures.
The key design feature of the convention centre proposal involves public tree gardens pulled directly into the lobby, blurring the line between the cultivated interior space of the convention centre and the surrounding landscape. This helps to create a sense of place to provide a more inviting experience for visitors.

The Barcelona International Convention Centre consists of a large hall (15.000 m2, 80m of structural lighting) that can be divided and a block for associated services that looks out to sea. The hall is both structure and abstraction; the exterior block talks to the sea and the sky. The structure is a musical score of reference. The climate, the light (and opposite, shade) and sound (and its opposite, silence) have shaped the plot.
