The renovation of this existing Convention Center added 48,000 square feet of usable space by reconfiguring the interior. Here's a quote from the Press Release issued by the Convention Center

The Skyfold Wall provides a unique and dramatic approach to subdividing space. Skyfold partitions are fully showcasing one of the most advanced convention center facilities in the world, the ARC Middle East Symposium organized a pre-event tour of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC). The four massive Skyfold walls, 78m long x 8m high (256` x 26.3`) were the center’s most impressive attraction!

Over 50 international architects and suppliers attended the tour of the OCEC to familiarize themselves with the latest technology and materials used for the construction of this facility. The tour was conducted by the General Manager and the Operations Manager of the Convention Center, who were happy to answer all the questions related to the operation and advantages of using the Skyfold wall system in their facility. We heard a lot of ‘oohs!’ and ‘aahhs!’ as they watched the huge wall move up and down – just the reaction we were waiting for automated and fold vertically into the ceiling. With a simple turn of a key, the innovative Skyfold Walls retract down from the ceiling to quietly transform the area within two minutes into nine different meeting room configurations."
