The building complex of the Croatian Transmission System Operator (HOPS) is located in Matulji, Croatia, within an existing electrical substation. The site is adjacent to a former Matulji railway station, which at the turn of the 19th century was connected with Opatija by a tram line, electrified in 1908. At the time, Opatija, besides Karlovy Vary, was the most visited tourist destination of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, when trains were the main means of transport. The CMA is set along the edge of the former Seventeenth Century Vauban fortification, now replaced by a high-speed ring road. The northern border of the site is defined by a railway line and the botanical garden — Jardin des Plantes de Lille. To the south, Rue Abélard defines the perimeter of a wider masterplan area designed by KAAN Architecten and PDAA, and comprising of CMA headquarters, a future complex of five buildings and a lush park spanning the site as an extension of the nearby garden. Our new office building on the Admiral Lazarev Embankment of St. Petersburg forms the first phase of the Trinity Place business and residential complex. Strategically situated in the immediate vicinity of the Petrogradsky business district, the project enjoys views to Krestovsky Island and the Gulf of Finland.
