Biassono Primary School

Conceived as more than a traditional school building, the proposal integrates educational spaces with public functions, creating a contemporary hub for both students and citizens. The architectural concept is organized around a clear and legible spatial structure, designed to encourage orientation, interaction, and flexibility. Educational areas are complemented by shared facilities, including a municipal library conceived as a place for reading, study, and collective participation, strengthening the relationship between the school and the wide... Multifunctional Building in Barbiano

At the southern entrance to Barbian (Barbiano) in South Tyrol, the Edificio multifunzionale establishes a clear civic presence while remaining rooted in its alpine context. Conceived by Roland Baldi Architects as a compact yet expressive ensemble, the project brings together a kindergarten, daycare centre, children’s restaurant, and tourist office within a single low-energy development. More than a collection of functions, the building operates as a 'green bridge' between mobility, education, and community life. Positioned at a key threshold to the village, the project signals arrival while maintaining a human scale. Its form and materiality reinterpret the region’s timber-building tradition through contemporary construction me... More

Puerto Varas School and Kindergarten

Situated on a slope with views of Puerto Varas and surrounded by the Andes Mountains, featuring volcanoes and Llanquihue Lake, the Puerto Varas School Kindergarten was designed as an engaging educational space where the architecture serves as a dynamic teacher. Rooted in the school's founding principle "every space educates" we aimed to embody this concept in a three-dimensional environment of exploration, enjoyment, and community, transforming how early learning settings can foster wellbeing, independence, and a bond with nature. Nicolás Saieh Established in 1996, the school has consistently appreciated education in a close connection with its environment — the light, the rain, the community, and the scenery of southern... Grundschule Fuchshofstraße

The Fuchshofschule in Ludwigsburg's west is spatially designed to provide an appropriate place of learning and shared exchange for various large parts of the school community. The new school building, which emerged from a competition, now extends northwards from Fuchshofstraße. Based on the design image of a filled bookshelf on a playground, it was possible to transfer this ideal of school learning between the imparting of knowledge and social interaction into a wooden hybrid building. The three ceiling slabs cantilever out like shelves, offering the school community space for individual filling in the middle of a flowing outdoor area. For the new primary school in Ludwigsburg, a school building had to be developed that both complies... More

KCCS

KCCS is what happens when a progressive client with ambitions to foster tomorrow’s leaders meets a creative architectural studio looking to lead now. Tom Ferguson Tom Ferguson Collaborating closely with our client, we helped plan a multi staged strategy for establishing a new, independent and innovative school in Arncliffe, Sydney. JERUSALEM ACADEMY OF MUSIC & DANCE

A new addition to the reputable Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, the building serves as an Advanced Inter Arts Center. While the existing campus lacked a proper performance space or a stage of any kind, the new building designed by HQ Architects and HWKN Architecture will provide the Academy with adequate premises to fulfill its role. The new building sits adjacent to the original JAMD buildings in a masterful way, creating a visual sense of a unified complex fitting for an institution now housed under three different roofs. An elegant, playful, stone façade extends across the entire complex, giving it a sense of unity and a contemporary, welcoming identity, while celebrating local materiality and craftsmanship. “Next level” STEM Hub

5 years after the opening of the Young Innovators lab for students from 1st to 4th grade, the school’s team approached us to develop a STEM hub for the older students - 5th to 7th grade - as part of a strategic plan for renovation of the northern wing of the building. The space would be located on the second floor, consisting of two classrooms and two storage rooms. Doriyan Todorov The Next Level hub targets project-based learning in robotics, digital sciences and at the same time developing skills such as presentation, teamwork and communication. Ivy Tech CC

Moravec Hall is the recently completed building for Ivy Tech Community College in Columbus, Indiana. The building replaces Poling Hall, an outdated 1970s era facility. As a replacement building, the project came with unique constraints such as the need to build the new structure prior to demolition, as well as maintain the near exact square footage with updated programs. At the same time, the project afforded the opportunity to re-shape the campus as well as the daily life of the school. The Ivy Tech building design evolved as the winning entry from an invited competition sponsored by the Cummins Foundation Architecture Program, a design excellence program who's architectural legacy has distinguished the city of Columbus for over six decade...
