Harfield gardens

"We tasked Quinn Architects with the challenge of modernising a unique mid-century home to meet the living and environmental needs of the 21st century, without compromising the integrity of the house’s original spirit. The resulting evolution builds upon, but does not compromise, the original Case Study ethos around which it was originally designed back in the 70s — that of open plan, simple volumes and panoramic windows overlooking exterior courtyard spaces."Ruth, owner of Harfield Gardens House Elliot Sheppard Elliot Sheppard Elliot Sheppard More

Roco's house

The existing dwelling is located in a quite area, the street only serves a farm and some fields. The existing house includes two volumes of a very classical architecture : the main volume with the living and night spaces and a second one with the garage. crahayjamaigne The extension has a radically contemporary architecture and slips next to the main volume on the back facade. The black color used on the extension has an effect of contrast with the existing and an effect of unity with the extension itself (panels, windows, …). crahayjamaigne The very strong identity is accentuated by the important work of the mass of the new volume. crahayjamaigne More

Barham Road

This five-bedroom Victorian property in Wimbledon has been extended and refurbished to perfectly fit the needs of our clients. The primary brief was to replace an existing conservatory and extend into the garden, creating a large modern kitchen and living space, and achieving a better connection between home and garden.   The solution was to remove the conservatory and create a large, multi-level and open plan kitchen living space. A sunken lounge features a large corner window that maximises the natural light and views across the garden. The pitched roof enhances head height and draws light in through the high level angled windows, which are accentuated by zinc-clad fascias.   The kitchen and pantry were made bespoke by the... More

Island Cottage

Island Cottage is an existing dwelling constructed in 1830, in a conservation area at the southern limit of Sidlesham Quay village, West Sussex. The property was highlighted by the local authority as a key example of rural vernacular character for homes in the area, but is also sited in a major flood risk area. Such a precarious context therefore demanded a considered approach, however the original building had been extended over many years mostly with insensitive and cumbersome extensions and additions.Athena and Mark purchased Island Cottage in 2015. They had a strong sense of belonging to the area, as both had childhood memories of visiting Pagham Harbour and were greatly drawn to live on the South Coast after many years w...
