This building is emblematic of 17th-century shop houses, standing 48 feet (approximately 15 m) tall. It bears witness to the successive transformations of the 18th and 19th centuries, such as the replacement of tile roofs with zinc and the disappearance of the original masonry spandrels. The Green Court Residences is an unique apartment building unit in Budapest’s condominium architecture because of its volume and façade formulation. The architects designed the building based on elegancy and generosity required by the Client, which is most noticable by the moderate color-use, yet exciting façade geometry. The ground floors of the buildings along avenue des Minimes, mostly ranging from one to three storey buildings, are mainly occupied by shops.
