Picardie

This building is emblematic of 17th-century shop houses, standing 48 feet (approximately 15 m) tall. It bears witness to the successive transformations of the 18th and 19th centuries, such as the replacement of tile roofs with zinc and the disappearance of the original masonry spandrels. D.Rocco D.Rocco Located in the protected area of the Marais, the building is remarkable for its interior layout, including a staircase, floors, and a 17th-century roof structure. In this context, the successive transformations of the building have been preserved and the facades restored to a fresh plaster tone. The gable has been insulated from the outside (ITE) with a lime-cork coating compatible with the old building. D.Rocco More

BRUTO STUDIO BRUTO STUDIO BRUTO STUDIO BRUTO STUDIO Upon arrival from the street, the sole access point, a tectonic object is perceived, resulting from operations of clean and abstract prisms, not recognisable with the scales of domestic typologies commonly used in the area. P&C HQ

The concept of the ‘architectural boundary’ has long been a compelling topic for exploring the gaps and relationships between buildings and the city. The epidermis, or outer skin, which forms this boundary, functions as more than just a protective shell-it becomes an individual object within the urban landscape and serves as a visual and spatial interface that interacts with its surroundings in multifaceted ways. In this project, the designer sought to move beyond a passive facade, intentionally adding depth and richness to the building’s skin to actively engage with its urban context. This design strategy aimed to reframe the architectural surface as a medium of communication and connection, rather than mere visual orname... More

Green Court Residences

The Green Court Residences is an unique apartment building unit in Budapest’s condominium architecture because of its volume and façade formulation. The architects designed the building based on elegancy and generosity required by the Client, which is most noticable by the moderate color-use, yet exciting façade geometry. The façade’s character is created by the balconies’ zigzag geometry. The balcony slabs and balustrades protrude and are set back the same way in opposite directions on the different floors, creating a rhytmically changing surface. Tamás Bujnovszky Generally, it isn’t easy to formulate balconies not shading each other too much, therefore the architectural solution ca... More
