At the request of long time clients, we designed and supervised the construction of a new cabin in the Chamonix valley. The site is located within a residential compound built in the 50’s. A cabin dating from the original master plan was on the lot. The location benefits from sweeping and stunning views over the Mont Blanc skyline. The project is located in the heart of the Sancerre wine region, in Chavignol. The owner, a wine producer, entrusted the agency with the design and construction of his family home, conceived as a living space that is both intimate and open to the landscape. The hillside site offers exceptional views of the slopes where the client's vineyards extend. This rich and soothing view guided the design of the spaces from the outset. The current Clair Joie young workers' residence is now outdated. The renovation program includes a complete restructuring of the accommodations, with the repurposing of the space previously used as a cafeteria. All three buildings that make up the residence are being entirely redesigned, both architecturally and technically. Taking advantage of this renovation project, the buildings will also be upgraded from an environmental perspective. This building is emblematic of 17th-century shop houses, standing 48 feet (approximately 15 m) tall. It bears witness to the successive transformations of the 18th and 19th centuries, such as the replacement of tile roofs with zinc and the disappearance of the original masonry spandrels. In this context, the successive transformations of the building have been preserved and the facades restored to a fresh plaster tone. A neoclassical house dating from 1875, incorporating decorative elements in the Louis XV style, is now divided into apartments. It has been restored to its original character following a restoration of the roof and walls in accordance with best practice. The four facades were renovated, taking into account the different materials and construction techniques, after a thorough investigation and fruitful discussions with the Architecte des Bâtiments de France.It was decided to apply a lime wash and mineral paint, a traditional process that reveals the relief of the facades. Designed by Ateliers A+ and set within a striking alpine landscape, the Joséphine Baker student residence establishes a close dialogue with its environment through precise volumes and carefully chosen materials. The project follows British architect Peter Arhends’ orthonormal grid, engaging with surrounding vegetation and panoramic mountain views, where “the constant presence of the mountains provides a grandiose backdrop.” The volumes are assertive yet integrated, with facades articulated in timber and stamped concrete. Notre Dame de l'Assomption church in Le Teil was heavily damaged by the earthquake in November 2019. Restoring it would appear to be a risky and costly business. It was therefore agreed by the Town Council that it would be demolished and rebuilt nearby. An architectural competition was launched in the first half of 2023. Today we would like to propose a different vision for the future of Place Jean Macé, outside the official competition. Mr. « M » and family contracted the office to design their new home in a recently purchased a small site up the hill of Villejuif city (125m²), a town in the suburbs of Paris. Caption The parcel is located in a garden housing district characterized by single family homes. The terrain is south oriented, and directly accessible from the main road. The family wished for a three bedroom house, with a study area, living-dining room and a garden totalizing a built-up area of around 80m².
