This project began with a simple question: how can we create a space where the day starts with quiet reflection, where one can observe a pocket of nature and feel the gentle sunlight passing beneath the eaves of a traditional hanok? Close by Giardini Margherita, in a great value building, our work has involved an apartment resulted by a fractionation with the scope of a new  layout for the resulting spatial configuration. On the same floor, in the past, a dwelling and a dental clinic coexisted covering 300 sqm. The entire laboratory and part of the dwelling, previoulsy totally inhabitated by the mum of the client, have became the new home of a young couple. Project “Lux Cave” involved the conversion of a 200 m2 warehouse into an entertainment area for personal use. The owner envisaged the construction of an entertainment space that aligns with their hobbies, such as watching sports or playing video games, and hanging out with friends. Moreover, the space was also intended for get-togethers and parties. The new space would include a bar with billiards and other games, a recording studio, a control room, a private cinema, and a gaming room. The concept phase began in 2022, solidified in 2023, and culminated with the café’s official opening in January 2024. Soft Place in the Rigid City This street furniture was installed in the plaza in front of the Yokohama City Hall for a limited period in the winter of 2023, after winning the excellence award in the design competition held in Yokohama, Japan. CAMS 2022 is a symposium about Cellular Aging and Metabolism. Baliza Norte was in charge of the branding and furniture design for this simposium. The graphic identity of the event draws inspiration from a technique used in analyzing cell aging. This method involves the addition of chemical agents to cell culture plates, with color changes being monitored as a result.
