Built in 1937, this Mediterranean Revival estate was purchased at auction for $8 million, at which an additional $32 million was invested for a "renovation," putting his total outlay to $40 million, making it the most expensive "redo" to anyone's recollection in Miami history. A striking mid-rise boutique hotel development expanding the capacity of this late 19th-century heritage ‘gold rush’ hotel. The completely refurbished hotel comprises 22 refurbished heritage rooms and 51 new rooms. Rooms share a circulation ‘street’ space woven through and around the heritage building.
