A Jonathan Leaman Kitchen

An apartment dominated by white color, transforming it into a canvas where harmony and unity of spaces play a primary role. Designed by architect Myrto Kiourti, the project, entitled "A Jonathan Leaman Kitchen," is a direct reference to Jonathan Leaman's painting "A Jan Steen Kitchen."  Nikos Vavdinoudis - Christos Dimitriou / studiovd.gr As it is stated by the architectural firm, “the space is simple and completely white. It only acquires color from the people themselves when they gather for a meal around this large table. The house functions as a white canvas that is transformed into a three-dimensional moving painting - like Jan Steen's ‘Meal’ - every time the residents gather with their friends in this caref... MONTPELLIER RESIDENCE

Located in Saint-Bruno, on the South Shore of Montreal, the Montpellier Residence sits in a picturesque setting with its sinuous streets and mature trees. Built in the late 1960s by a local architect, it is now listed in the cultural heritage repertoire as an iconic example of Mid-Century aesthetics in Quebec. Alex Lesage According to the Vives St-Laurent team: "This modern residence, characteristic of North American bungalows, [...] stands out with its volumetric interplay and clean lines. Completely clad in brick, the house features no ornamentation, allowing the expressive nature of the materials to take center stage. The residence consists of three distinct single-story volumes, all connected by a glass corridor." Alex Lesage... More

A Neighbourhood Wine Bar: GOTA

Housed in the Justicia neighborhood in Madrid, a historical ‘barrio’ full of modern boutiques and young artists, lies GOTA—a cozy natural wine bar that elevates food, music, and wine with passion and dedication founded by Fede Graciano. Salva Lopez FRAMA is the perfect match to create that magical atmosphere in GOTA. The Tasca pieces offer a surface that vibrates in the stony and austere ambiance, giving lightness. The 01 Seating Collection provides warmth to the space, and with its clean rectangular lines, it adds a contrast to the rounded counter and tables. Salva Lopez Salva Lopez Salva Lopez More

Continental Oak Megève Lava Hardwax

Pre-finished by hand, our Megève effect makes the Oak surface denser and harder, revealing a deeply textured grain with lively accents and moderate variation in colour and structure. This finish works best on long, wide planks in random widths for floors and walls. More

Continental Ash Dark Emerald Hardwax

Our hand-applied prefinished Dark Emerald look provides for a dry dark graphite tone, leaving a slight hue of greenish-brown and softly accentuated woodgrain speaking "True Ash". This stabel surface tone is protected with hardwax-oil. Because of it's calm long grain, it works very well on random-width long planks for floors and walls.  More

Pied-à-terre Keizersgracht

This Pied-à-terre apartment had to contain a multifunctional room in the middle that is at once part of the living room, a study and a guest room. It’s a very deep space which has the unique feature of having windows on three sides, but not a lot of them. It also has the entrance all the way at the back-corner.  Caption As the position of the entrance made it necessary to make a pretty long hallway, we made a couple of interventions to alleviate the longitudinal space. First of all we treated the division between the hallway and the rooms behind it as an architectural object. It is materialized as a furniture piece, differently from the outer shell of the apartment, thus emphasizing the apartment as one hole. We also... More

Chalet Chamonix

Surrounded by the incredible mountains of the French Alps, in the town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, the Alpen Chalet became the first large foreign project of our studio. The interior design of the chalet took us more than six months to develop. And during this time the project had several changes. Inspired by the materials, colors and elements of the Alps nature, we have combined the traditional techniques, used in the construction of alpine houses for many centuries, with the new technologies. This allowed to create a traditional, but at the same time modern, unique and timeless style. Warm colors, elegant wooden surfaces, natural materials and expressive interior elements – all to create an atmosphere of comfort and relax after a long... More

Restaurant Zürichberg

According to the motto: “Today begins the future of the past”, by Sorell Hotels Switzerland, we oriented ourselves for the restaurant renovation to the typical architectural features of the Art Nouveau halls above the restaurant and reinterpreted them in a contemporary way. The artful neon installations on the ceiling of the restaurant recall the listed stucco work, while geometrical wall reliefs made of light beige fiberglass concrete reflect the subject of the dark wooden panelling. Chairs with textile surfaces in rich colors provide an exciting contrast to the warm room colors. “The ideas of Karsten Schmidt and his team have conviced us right from the beginning, because they are related to the big renovation in 1995&rd... Giahi Tattoo

The new Giahi Tattoo & Piercing Studio in the former Falken Pharmacy in the heart of Lucerne’s old town apperas in an old rose color and contrasting, light, minimal and linear elements. In addition to four tattoo and one piercing rooms on the 1st floor, on the ground floor clients can find piercings, jewelery, accessories and care products presented on filigree, under-lit shelving systems, even more emphasized by glass cubes and drawer furniture. The self-designed aluminum-clad cashier desk and the coffee counter top made of solid Verde Maritaca granite make very clear statements. Not to be overlooked is the new suspended metal staircase, which sets a great accent with its filigree contrasting the first two concrete steps in the... More

Cosy place full of natural light

The attic in private house from the ‘80’s gained modern look and extra space with an abundance of natural light thanks to the FAKRO EDT dormer. Nowadays, the inhabitants can enjoy a beautiful view of the polder of Amsterdam. The house is situated in a row of similar houses in the city of Zaandam (near Amsterdam). Beautiful view of Amsterdam ‘Last year we bought a house erected in the 80’s. We both love to do odd jobs and thought it was a good challenge to make this house more contemporary. When our son was born, we decided to make the attic a real ‘mom and dad’ paradise. The first thing we did, was replacing the old dormer with a modern one so we could finally enjoy the view of the polder of Amsterdam.'... More
