When designing for social interaction, the elimination of boundaries has always been the key intention; yet today we are increasingly surrounded by barriers. In Florida, the Jacksonville First Baptist Church has been renovated both inside and out. Steni Colour façade panels gave the building new life.   Challenging renovation job   Jacksonville, Florida, is home to the recently renovated First Baptist Church. The first part of the project was to refurbish the inside of an auditorium of over 9,000 square meters. New seating, upgraded stage and general new aesthetics were ready during 2021. The installation designed for Sprinx Technologies revisits the company's communication codes, organizing the visit through a sequence of thematic environments suspended between physical and digital. The Mobile PPS is a pneumatic space where doctors can treat patients in transparent protective space. It has constant positive air pressure, which means, the air flows only toward outside of the space, not letting the virus coming inside. The clean air supply is guaranteed by a ventilator located outside or in an extra decontaminated space. WEsearch lab recently built the Wormhole installation in CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India to explore a labour intensive low-cost workflow of assembling laser cut pieces of a free-form surface in developing South-east Asian countries, and to explore how the digital process of design and rationalisation preceding the construction responds to such a workflow. The installation is literally a wormhole shaped faceted skin circumscribed in a 2m x 2m x 2m cube. The Liqui exhibition stand design for La Cimbali came about as a direct result of our experience within the coffee industry. We were asked to be the principal design consultancy for Piano Works – designing and building the La Cimbali trade stand for London Coffee Festival. From the offset, the stand was developed to be bold and stand out – to showcase the La Cimbali coffee machines in the best possible way and to create an impression that would entice visitors to explore La Cimblai’s products. Tasked by Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the San Francisco Planning Department to design new prototypes of spaces and activities on Market Street, to be displayed for three days during the Market Street Prototyping Festival, we created a space of respite on the busy sidewalk. sonoGROTTO is an experiment in using affordable, ubiquitous, and recyclable materials to create new, human-scaled spaces along the cavernous and over-scaled corridor of Market Street.It is composed of 235 cardboard tubes fastened together. Gensler Seattle unveiled ‘Blind Trust’, an interactive exhibit, at the 2018 Seattle Design in Public Festival. Blind Trust challenges visitors to use touch, rather than sight, as their primary means of navigation and interaction with the installation. Visitors move through three concentric, rectangular extrusions formed by rope stretched vertically between frames. While these tightly knit rope ‘walls’ appear impenetrable and visually homogenous, many of the ropes are actually elastic, allowing a participant to create an opening.
