Complete renovation of this large one bedroom apartment. The owners, a young couple, asked us to keep what’s possible from the old apartment and create a cosy home where they can relax. Luckily the original materials of the floor, botticino marble and oak parquet, were already very soothing thanks to their soft, sandy tones. Together with the white walls, timber, woven cane and soft, muted and textural upholstery such as linen we created a very natural mood. Adding the black touches was important to avoid a total coastal look. Colours are introduced through artwork, soft furnishings and feature walls, keeping in mind elements such as the nature and plant life. More

Valtournenche, at 1500 meters above sea level, is famous for its skiing facilities that connect to Cervinia. The typical local house is very low, extremely small in size, completely covered in wood and with warm and feeble lightings. Externally it is possible to find the typical combination of gray stone and wood, of which the local vernacular architecture "rascard" is an exemplary case. The project, instead of enclosing itself in a wooden cocoon, brings into the interior this strong relationship of splitted stone and honey wood. Dating back to the last century, the "cellaio" was built in one of the most  panoramic areas of the island of Ischia, immersed in the hilly land, at that time subdivided into terraces for the cultivation of the grapes. The harvest period was in fact the only time of the year when the house was inhabited. "Solvallagata68" is a residential project commissioned by a very friendly and social family who is used to host friends and relatives on a daily basis. For this reason the design concept’s goal was to create a spacious open-plan living area encouraging family members and their guests to spend time together. Quite a radical renovation, Bartoli Design’s project for a couple with two teenagers that moved to Brianza, in a 210 sqm apartment placed on the top floor of a building from the 80’s. The customers asked for the same level of comfort of their previous, more spacious home, with space for family’s valuable pieces of furniture, too.
