The house on the lake refers to the local boat and fishing houses and follows the tradition of rural construction by the water. Lightness, a low, wide roof structure and a strong emphasis on the horizontal determine the design. The timber construction, predominantly from local woods, is elevated to protect it from flood. The wooden porch surrounding the house widens to a terrace at the lakeside, completely covered by the steep saddleback roof. Mistico 10 House is located in front of a large lake and a few meters from the beach. These special climatic charasteristics invited us to develop a design connected to the site, with its views of surrounding nature and taking advantage of its location to be ventilated using the thermal influence of the lake and the winds that it generates. The family recreational use to wich the house is intended, conceives unified social spaces without loosing provacy from the outside. For the Mistico 10 House, the lake is always the main protagonist, that is why from all it's internal spaces you can see its reflections, its movement and how its colors change throught the day.   More

 An undeveloped 5 acre lot had been a gathering place for the client’s family since the 1970’s. This beautiful lakefront oasis, known affectionately as The Narrows, lies just a few miles outside of downtown Austin. The owners insisted on a simple, humble, yet unique cabin to host their family gatherings and quiet weekend retreats. ​ This small cabin, nicknamed ‘Cousin Cabana’, needed to host multiple programs in a small space while maintaining a sense of openness. The White snake house is a particular souvenir for the architect Pierre Minassian and his architecture studio AUM based in Lyon, France – a peculiar challenge of an exceptional construction of a home sculpted from concrete and glass perched on top of a lake. The site in itself represents 40 hectares of lake and oak forest. The lake is oval shaped and located in the middle of the forest.The clients originally wanted to build their house in the middle of the forest, but the architect Pierre Minassian convinced them to build it on the lake. The house is composed of 2 slabs of white concrete. EUROPEAN PRIZE FOR URBAN PUBLIC SPACE 2012 / NOMINATION Goclaw is the largest apartment block complex, built in Warsaw between 1975 and 1990. It is currently inhabited by more than fifty thousand people. In recent years neglected urban area in the central part of the complex was designated for the recreational park. The area was what remained of an old construction site with piles of garbage and concrete waste. The rubble surrounded an artificial water reservoir. It was ironically called “Balaton” by the local residents, as the Balaton lake in Hungary once was an popular holiday destination in Poland. Building the lakeside baths in Caldero breaks with a pre-packaged leisure attraction. Additional atmospheric qualities and potential for alternative uses create added value for guests and community. The site slopes slightly down to the lake and is thus ideal for an arrangement of the programme on two levels. The sun deck is an open area for both swimmers and public, with an infrastructure that can be of benefit both inside and outside the baths complex. The roofed aquarium level sited underneath offers scope for games, keep-fit activities and events. Both levels are connected by a terrace for relaxing and reclining. The project, assigned to Oneworks after winning a competition in 2006, concerns the transformation of a former industrial site sitting on Lake Maggiore's shores, one of the most beautiful bodies of water in northern Italy. The masterplan reveals the property to the town of Laveno; an open space network is the means to reconcile the brownfield with the historical center. Availing to Gustafson-Porter as landscape consultants, the proposal for the former ceramic plant involved residential complexes and tourist accommodations. The house on the lake is a projet designed by the french architecture studio AUM for a couple with two children in 2012. It is located on a narrow plot whose natural slope reaches the shores of Lake. Pierre Minassian, the architect of the project, followed this operation with his team of architects for 3 years. The house is entirely made of raw concrete and its structure is exceptional because of its apparent simplicity and its truthful sophistication.The dwelling consists of two main levels.
