Villa Anelli

Villa Anelli is a private Inhabitable Work by Fausto Ferrara on Lake Garda, a residential commission of more than 2,200 sqm for a high-level private client. The project does not treat the lake as a mere view, but as an active part of the architecture. Water, light, air and reflections enter into the construction of space, while the relationship between interior and exterior is articulated through thresholds, protected terraces and spatial sequences designed to preserve privacy, intimacy and a direct relationship with the landscape. Villa Anelli belongs to Ferrara’s research into the Inhabitable Work: the private house is not conceived as an object of representation or a display of status, but as a Work in which scale, construction a... On Blank Pages. Caceres 2025

We were invited to work in Cáceres with our piece “On Blank Pages”. The installation inaugurated the activities with which the city begins its candidacy to become the European Capital of Culture 2031. luzinterruptus luzinterruptus luzinterruptus For three days, the piece took over Plaza de Santa María with a large circular wall covered in thousands of notebooks filled with messages from citizens. The structure, illuminated from within, functioned as a collective archive and a wall of free expression—something the public could write on and transform. The wind rustled the pages, creating an unpredictable collage of shared thoughts and reflections. Participation unfolded on three levels: through... More

You Ning

A new pavilion in Eindhoven as a gift from the Chinese city of Nanjing. Image Courtesy B-too Nanjing The former Philips enclave Strijp-S in Eindhoven is the place where it was decided that this unique building with patently clear Chinese influences should be erected. An effervescent place where residential, life and work go hand-in-hand, and consequently there is always something to do here. The new pavilion in Eindhoven is a gift from the Chinese city of Nanjing. The name You Ning refers to this good city connection. “You” means friendship and “Ning” is the abbreviated name for the city of Nanjing. Who else but Eveline Wu could come up with a fitting concept and who else but B-too could design the interior... More

BMY

Nestled within a serene suburban landscape, the single-storey concrete home seeks to blend with the landscape rather than stick out. Furthermore, it seeks to embody a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, offering an ideal sanctuary for a modern family. Caption Caption The centrepiece of the home is a central long, tall passage, aptly referred to as the gallery, which both divides and connects various living spaces. Natural light streams in through the clerestory windows as well as through the central garden atrium. The gallery not only enhances the spatial flow but also acts as an artful display for personal art pieces and provides views of the seasonal landscape, fostering a sense of fluidity and connectivity.... A Peaceful Place: a shelter of meticulos harmony, where the sequence of prospective and the continuous research and succession of full and empty spaces become essential goals. 1140

Solid, yet light; understated, yet impressive: designed by Werner Aisslinger as a “community hub”, the Thonet table 1140 brings together functionality, versatility and elegant simplicity. This new design features solid oak legs, rounded on the outer edge in a quarter circle, as well as smart, unobtrusive connecting elements on the corners of the tabletop. The tabletop appears almost as if it were floating. Thanks to the smart design, even chairs with armrests fit nicely under this extremely sturdy, stable piece of furniture. In addition to their aesthetic elements, the rounded outer edges of the table legs also offer two more clear advantages: even where space is at a premium, you don’t have to worry about bumping into any... Adela Apartments

The project came about with the development of a large residential block close to the Elwood foreshore and Port Philip Bay. The brief simply requested a spacious apartment product that was cutting edge and contemporary, but subtle both inside and out. The concept of a large apartment resulted in six single level dwellings, each with the proportions of a small house. The apartments are low maintenance, functionally adaptable to appeal to a range of potential residents, and highly sustainable. Externally, rather than go for a standard “stacked wedding cake” form, the building was set back significantly from the adjoining properties on the lower levels. This allowed the main volume of the building to have vertical sides and reduce... More

Portsea House

'A previously dated but solidly built 90’s style house with ‘good bones’ has been renovated with minimal structural changes but with a comprehensive interior design program. Our clients purchased a large, solidly built and well-located beach house. However, the kitchen was impractical, the large bar unnecessary and the finishes were colourful – the house had the sensibility of a 90’s office interior rather than a home near the beach. Our repeat clients trusted we would give the house a more relaxed and warm feel as well as creating practical spaces for a family that likes to cook and entertain.  As the house was quite large we had sufficient space to enlarge the kitchen and include the client’s sele... Arch-Texture

It is not a coincidence that the word ‘Arch’ is found in both ‘Arch-itecture’ and ‘Arch-aic’.1 In recent times there has been a resurgence in the use of the ‘Arch’ in architectural forms throughout the world.  Why? Most likely as the result of a generational ebb and flow in our cultural relationship to our collective history; a youthful break with our past replaced with a mature revaluation. Modernism emerged from the conformist historicism of the Victorian era and sought to euthanise that past architectural narrative, and so few arches were visible in its rigid Euclidian geometry.  However, following the excesses of the Second World War a melancholic reappearance of a veiled neocla...
