Studio ST Architects’ renovation of the 94-year-old Ansche Chesed Synagogue revitalizes the space to encourage a greater sense of community and to accommodate twenty-first century needs. The main project challenge was redesigning the landmarked synagogue to make the spaces feel more contemporary yet reflective of the building’s past. Studio ST upgraded the functionality, aesthetics and security of the 1927 Romanesque-Byzantine synagogue while relating to its historic features. Click & Collect is an online ordering area on the second floor of the department store, with four spacious fitting rooms, a lobby and a bar. Caption On 80 sq. m combined three functional spaces: a cash register, a comfortable seating area with a bright yellow sofa, fitting rooms with large mirrors and hanging chandeliers. Caption The interior is dominated by materials such as molten glass and marble. Cosiness is also created by elements of designer decor, aroma diffusers and a collection of books by Assouline and Taschen. The Pineapple Street Lobby project is a complete gut renovation of the main entrance and lobby of an early 1900’s residential co-op building in Brooklyn Heights. Previous renovations had left the cramped, low-lit corridor feeling piecemeal and outdated. To provide a show-stopping lobby experience in commercial office building 4747 Bethesda, located in Bethesda, Maryland, ZGF Architects created a dramatic staircase feature wall utilizing Banker Wire mesh pattern SZ-4 in stainless steel and copper. “In regards to the wire mesh finish, the combination of the copper and stainless steel is not only unique, but sophisticated,” says Ruben Quesada, designer, ZGF Architects “The high quality of the material warrants a front-of-house application; this mesh should not be hidden.” The reception desk of the lobby is set against the backdrop feature wall comprised of Banker Wire’s SZ-4 wire mesh, fabricated by Synergi. Premium walnut solid wood tambour panels cover the columns and bookend the staircases of this artistic downtown Milwaukee hotel.Saint Kate is a boutique arts hotel named after the patron saint of artists - Saint Catherine. Epic Investment Services commissioned me to photograph the renovation of the lobby at 33 Bloor Street East in Toronto, 30 years after the building first opened. The renovationr reimagined the lobby, as well as the retail spaces.    It was important to capture the various aspects of the renovation: frontage on two different streets, retail spaces, main lobby, and elevator lobby. Highlighting the features of the spaces was key, as well as the different connections: two street entrances, one neighboring building and the subway stop entrance. Located inside Frost Tower, a transformational addition to the San Antonio skyline, the design of this retail bank and accompanying loft space establishes a customer-focused presence in the light-filled lobby. The retail space, occupying one side of the lobby, utilizes a unique demountable partition system central to the branded experience of Frost bank. With a customized panel pattern and integrated lighting, the design lends itself to the facets and geometries depicted in the overall tower concept. Located in New Acton, a diverse new precinct in Canberra, Nishi Commercial is a major development housing government departments, private offices, a cinema and cafés. Nishi Residential is a multi-storey apartment building housing 2 floors of hotel rooms wrapped around a central courtyard and light well. The ground floor contains Hotel Hotel’s lobby, reception, concierge and bar, as well as retail and hospitality tenancies. March Studio was engaged to create all the spaces on the ground floor of the boutique hotel, which encouraged residents, guests and visitors to linger in what would otherwise be known as transient space.
