Located in a building designed by Artacho Jurado in the Vila Buarque neighborhood, the Praça Apartment was designed for a young architect who chose to move to the center of São Paulo. The 70m² apartment underwent a comprehensive renovation aimed at maximizing the integration between spaces. Except for the walls that enclose the bathroom, all other partitions were demolished, creating a large open and multifunctional environment. The new layout of the apartment introduced flexibility and the overlapping of uses and functions (cooking, working, sleeping, and socializing), in line with the laid-back lifestyle of the resident, who is also a co-author of the project. This former doctor's office has been completely renovated and converted into an apartment. The project has created a very open, spacious, and functional living space and highlights the panoramic view of the Place du Marché in Versailles. Very neutral colors were chosen to create a strong contrast with the bright lights outside. The neo-classical semi-detached house with large adjoining stable, a small wash house and a shooting lodge was built in 1837 by master builder Joseph Anton Seger from Vaduz. From 1864 to 1912, the listed farmstead on Feldkircher Strasse served the imperial post office to deliver mail to most of Liechtenstein. The historic ensemble will be preserved, supplemented by a new courtyard house. In the initiation phase and in conjunction with a project developer, we created a plan to convert and transform this remarkable, monumental ensemble located in the heart of Edam. Caption In 2007, a decision was made to fuse three church congregations. A few years later, the result of this fusion was that the Groenland Church was no longer in use. The last mass held in the church was on the 11th of October, 2015. After serving as a church and meeting place for 124 years, the decision was made to sell the entire complex in 2015. The request of the client, a private developer, was to obtain the maximum possible surface in the volume allowed by the land use plan. Even with reduced heights it has been possible to design functional and harmonious spaces and obtain a splendid double-height volume for the living room.
