The real estate object of intervention is located in the southern suburbs of Milan, in the Vigentino district, where the South Agricultural Park goes deep into urbanization.The area is characterized by residential, productive and commercial settlements and has several green areas. The five existing courtyard buildings, built in the 90s with productive and tertiary use, have variable heights between the 3 and 4 above-ground floors, and a common basement to the whole complex. Heritage and insertion
The project is established on the former open-air parking lot of the Pré l'Arpent housing estate, mainly occupied by wrecked vehicles. This housing complex, built in 1974 by the Andrault and Parat agency, consists of a three-story stepped building with a first floor parking lot at its heart. This construction of high heritage quality is the witness of a time when these architects sought to reconcile the qualities of collective and individual housing through intermediate housing. 34 rue Roger Salengro is situated in the heart of City of Bondy, nearby the city hall, and has numerous advantages concerning transportation and commercial areas.Bondy Habitat, the main social housing developer in the city, has requalified an industrial wasteland situated in Bondy’s downtown. Today it has become a 21 housing units building that replaces the former printing press.During the conception phase, several meetings between architects and local residents took place; this social process led to a project that covers not only the mandatory urban rules, but also the neighbor’s particular demands. This project is part of a public-private partnership (PPP). It consists of several housing units for a public rental destination and other private units. These dwellings have been a research subject in order to reach the low energy standard.
