Mediterranean Seaside Villa

This project was to be a house for a family with greatly different ideas about what constitutes a house. One parent dreaming of a strikingly modern aesthetic, the other of a traditional house with a sloping roof, and with respect for the rules of Feng Shui. ZEST architecture had to find a way to interpret both these views and create a house that would feel like a home for the entire family. Adrià Goula The villa is located on a plot in the town of Alella, with views both of the Mediterranean, and the city of Barcelona. The design departed from the idea of making the most of the views to all sides. We developed a volumetric concept that is an intricate play with three different materials and various different heights. Because th... En savoir plus

Casas Cartama

We started this assignment in order to give a new life to a real estate development that has been stagnant since 2004. Therefore, we have to adapt to an already executed concrete structure and design a new distribution, not only inside, generating more open spaces and diaphanous, but silvering a new way of life in the houses. Juanan Barros Juanan Barros Juanan Barros Juanan Barros We suppressed the external stairs of the plot to center the entrance to the house through the garage, making it more accessible and direct from the outside, and thus leaving the ground floor more flexible to relocate all the rooms and propose new façade openings that allow us to enjoy the wonderful views that this natural environment of... Mijas

With an exceptional location, between the sea and the mountains, the Alejandro Giménez Architects studio enters the reform and expansion of a villa from the 60s, which evokes that traditional Mediterranean architecture. Respect for what exists leads us to reproduce that set of roofs that the house presents, paying some attention to the flights and the handmade tiles that characterize them.We start from the idea of unity, where the extension is integrated with the existing parts, generating an architecture with the same language. The reform generates open spaces on the ground floor, with large holes for the entry of light and a large terrace protected by a pergola with a more natural character. This pergola characterized by the wo... En savoir plus

GR13 "Road to Calvary"

The first challenge is to redirect the labyrinthine structure of the housing. The diaphanous, the optimization and maximum utilization of the interior volume of the house have been sought, connecting it with the exterior.Existing materials have been reused, affected by the passage and inclement weather, imperfect, but with something to tell, merging them with current elements. The stone, the corten steel and the existing affected wood, connect, integrate, as if they had always coexisted. The interior inevitably connects with the outside, creating various environments caused by different natural unevennesses. Stone recesses allow us to appreciate the spectacular perimeter panorama of the building.Designed by: J. David M. JofreCopyright: Art Sa... En savoir plus

The Policello Residence

A Mediterranean contemporary residence that I designed for clients building in Houston. We wanted to keep the interior light and open, and go with a more minimalist scheme. On the 2nd floor, we did an entire apartment setup, so someone can live there independently if needed. The main public spaces all open up to each other, making the interior feel even larger. The pool is covered with a large screened-in lanai. The homeowners are happy, so I am happy, and it looks great inside and out. En savoir plus

Mediterranean Arabic House Design

Every home has its unique personality, and this Mediterranean Arabic house design in Riyadh has it in spades. The exterior features a unique combination of modern massing coupled with quaint Mediterranean style design elements like red shingles, partially pitched roofs, arches and a crisp white facade.
