Villa OISEAU BLEU: A Bionic Oasis with Transparent Walls, Embracing Coastal Beauty

ALTER EGO Project Group as Architects

In the coastal setting of this villa, recognized globally with multiple accolades, the ALTER EGO Project Group has seamlessly integrated the concept of a residence exposed to nature — a space characterized by fluid boundaries, open to light and air. Each room is thoughtfully oriented towards captivating seascapes, and dizzying views from expansive panoramic windows serve as integral features of the interior.

Bionic motifs evident in the facade translate indoors into sweeping arches and sinuous lines, both structurally and decoratively. The villa blends perfectly with the surrounding landscape of the French Riviera, and the design solutions correspond to the context of the place. From certain angles the building seems transparent, inviting the warmth of sunset rays to permeate the living spaces. Villa OISEAU BLEU not only prioritizes comfort and relaxation but also upholds a commitment to environmental sustainability.

Through conscientious material selection and a focus on durable, eco-friendly resources, the project embodies a sensitive approach to nature and responsible consumption ethics. Employing green building strategies, the villa minimizes heat gain while maximizing outdoor views. Innovative technologies such as solar energy harnessing, rainwater collection systems, and greywater treatment further contribute to reducing its carbon footprint and energy consumption. Embodying the sophisticated design concepts in the OISEAU BLEU interiors involved tailor-made design solutions. The villa's contemporary aesthetic is complemented by bespoke full-scale curved structures of Corian – a cutting-edge composite material – combined with an exclusive and delicate Onyx panels.

This groundbreaking combination, enhanced by the advanced backlighting systems, required meticulous design and engineering expertise. Central to the villa's ambiance is its lighting concept, which transforms the space beyond all recognition. The luminous veins of backlit Onyx Rainbow serve as a focal point, enriched by a variety of lighting scenarios woven into every unique interior element. Notable among these features is a sophisticated composition — a flock of glass birds "hovering" in the central room, expertly crafted by skilled glass artisans based on ALTER EGO designer's vision.

Furthermore, the villa boasts a pool equipped with movable bottom technology, transitioning into a terrace as needed— an ingenious showcase of thoughtful design, innovation and functionality.
