Early Medical Centre, designed by Studio Antimatter, rethinks healthcare architecture in Singapore by exploring the psychology and emotional experiences surrounding health screening.

The former area constituted a large, empty, rectangular unit divided by a sizable number of structural columns in the middle. The centre was set up so that users could move around the columns in a radial progression by reaping the benefits of spatial limitation.

Polyclinic and Housing at Dinant
The project consists of a medical polyclinic with seven doctor’s offices (25 m2 each) and seven apartments. THE SITE. The generous plot is located in a residential area of Dinant, being surrounded by single-detached dwellings and a nature-dominated landscape. THE PROGRAM The building can be perceived as two clashing volumes that contain the separate functions of medical clinic and housing. The main challenge of the project was negotiating a relationship between the private and public spaces. INTRODUCTION
After 12 years of preparations and 8 years of construction, the biggest university medical centre in the Netherlands has opened in the centre of Rotterdam: the Erasmus MC. The newbuilding transforms the university medical centre from a cluster of separate buildings into a small medical city that is home every day to 13,500 staff, 4,500 students and thousands of patients. EGM is responsible for both the architecture and the interior design of the new Erasmus MC.
