Located on Expedia Group’s new 40-acre campus bordering Seattle’s coastline, the Prow is a biophilic staff retreat. After years of intimate involvement with their Buddhist community in upstate New York, our spiritually-minded clients decided to plant roots closer to their Glen Spey temple. Despite the travel-loving couple’s broad geographic search for a second home, they were eventually led back to Glen Spey, where they felt a pull to be near their place of spiritual practice. This apartment building was built on an old palm forest beside the big city. It is a raw handing over apartment, but It's original plan was excellent designed with two balconies which created a huge flow for wind to get in and out of the space. ‘Changtteul’, The ‘Changtteul’ means a frame containing a window in Korean. It is the name of the old and abandoned church. As its name suggests, the place has its own windows. The windows have a metaphorical gaze. Through this motif, the space was planned for dramatic experiences in abandoned religious facilities. The first window is the 'window between man and God' and originates from the placeness given from birth.   It was a place for God and also for man. INSCAPE, a new meditation concept, opened in Manhattan 2016. Archi-Tectonics designed the Inscape concept not only as a one-off, but also for worldwide distribution. The first PROTO space in Chelsea occupies a large 6000sf ground floor. The space contains a set of large volumes; ellipsoid meditation spaces; a “Dome Room” and an “Alcove room”, an extensive retail space, as well as a lounge for guests. An important element of healthy living is found in lifestyle changes, meditation and ‘cleaner’ live-work environments. Shala, School of movement located 2.3-acre plot in the heart of Jaipur surrounded by residential buildings. It is a corner plot with two adjoining streets in the beautiful locality of Bapu Nagar, Jaipur. Client for this project is Mr. Dillep Baid Founder of Dileep industries. He commissioned flamingo architects to design a facility which can be temporarily inbuilt and can be shifted if needed. In this project we worked with the idea of variable context as the main axis of the design process. This idea, although widely debated, is far from being finished. Especially when we understand the idea of context from different angles and beyond the usual notions that have to do with sites or with sociocultural backgrounds.We consider that the material aspects, and the atmospheres that can arise from them, suppose a source of concepts that can perfectly be considered as contextual. Form and materials used in the centre relate to the rural vernacular building, but used in a new and fresh way. As the centre is financed mainly by gifts from community members and friends, one of the design briefs was to maximize the the space while minimizing the cost. The facade of the centre – along with the cladding of the roof – is made of corrugated steel, a material popular for its low cost, strength, and long life. Western red cedar beams and white wood window frames mark the transitions from one steel sheet to the next, with the horizontal lines of the beams giving the building depth and profile.
