B&B Italia celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the iconic Charles sofa system during the Milan Design Week. The sofa is designed by Antonio Citterio, with its installation designed by Migliore+Servetto Architects. Inside the Milan store, the Charles sofa, framed by a graphic scenic backdrop, surrounded by history, with its elegance and balance, it represents a constant. Behind it, images from the last twenty years appear – events, objects, scientific and technological discoveries emerge as striking images from the semi-transparent graphic backdrop, in a dynamic overlapping of historical references. For the exhibition “Constancy & Change in Korean Traditional Craft 2013” at the Triennale of Milan on the occasion of Salone del Mobile 2013, Migliore + Servetto Architects has designed an essential set up, with a strong visual and emotional impact, able to exalt the shapes and perfection of the works of Korean masters. It’s a neutral environment, far from all contexts, where great hanging membranes protect the objects, covering them with the thin transparency of the fabric’s weave. The New York Times Style Magazine and the International Herald Tribune Style Magazine hosted a special event to kick off Seeing the Light, a special exhibition curated by T Magazine. The installation unfold from the corridor of the Bulgari Hotel where seven Flos Superarchimoon lamps cast a spotlight on the iconic T graphic, printed on aluminum sheeting. Arranged outside in the hotel’s manicured gardens 12 installations, housed in oversized wooden cargo-like crates and marked with the T graphic on their sides.
