Vlorë Stadium

The Vlore Stadium project rethinks the role of a stadium within the urban fabric of Vlore, Albania. Rather than treating the stadium as a single-purpose sports facility, the proposal considers it as a new piece of city capable of reconnecting different parts of the urban area and generating everyday public activity. The project site lies between the main road of the city and a less-defined urban area. The proposal therefore extends beyond the stadium itself, establishing a new relationship between the predominantly residential western side of the city and the eastern area through a sequence of public and mixed-use spaces. At the interface between the city and its urbanised suburban surroundings, a new mixed-use residential quarter has been created on a 14,900-square-metre site, combining the advantages of urban living with the appeal of living close to nature. The development comprises approximately 21,200 square metres of above-ground gross floor area and 6,900 square metres below ground. Amanelli is a 57.76-hectare residential master plan near lake coatepeque that brings together housing, landscape, recreation, and community infrastructure within a single territorial system. The plan responds to the site's volcanic topography by concentrating development on suitable slopes, retaining steep and wooded areas, and connecting the project through water, vegetation, and public space.
