Landmark Altabrisa

Landmark Altabrisa is a 32-story mixed-use tower concept proposed for Mérida through an independent competition. The project brings together residential, commercial, hospitality, restaurant and entertainment programs, treating the tower as a civic destination rather than an isolated high-rise. A generous public park at its center connects the development with the surrounding city.

FORMM combined detailed architectural design, landscape integration and parametric methods to create a new landmark for Mérida. An assisted parametric structural design strategy moves much of the structural system to the exterior, reducing the number of interior columns, improving floor-plan flexibility and allowing daylight to penetrate deeper into the building.

The tower shifts and rotates as it rises, responding to prevailing winds while reducing direct solar impact. This dynamic form gives the project a distinct silhouette, while its program creates an active environment throughout the day. By joining high-density living and hospitality with public landscape and community-oriented uses, Landmark Altabrisa proposes a more open model for large-scale development in the city.
