Bennett's Road House

Bennett’s Road House began with a modest family cabin overlooking a pond in rural Newfoundland, a place layered with memory, tradition, and generations of craftsmanship. Originally built by the homeowner’s grandfather, the cabin held deep sentimental value and became the foundation for a transformation that balances preservation with contemporary living. Rather than replacing the existing structure, the design embraces it as the heart of the home. The original cabin was carefully retained and reimagined, allowing its history and character to remain legible within the new intervention. Existing foundations and framing were preserved wherever possible, maintaining a clear connection to the original structure while reducing materi... More

Clay House

When Studio 163 were approached to transform this ground floor one bedroom flat in Kentish Town into a bright and modern two bedroom flat, it was a very dark and damp space which lacked flow and visual connection.
