Mountain Retreat Villa

Mountain Retreat Villa is a contemporary luxury residence conceived for a steep, forested mountain setting, where architecture and landscape are carefully integrated to create a private retreat immersed in nature. The design is organized as a series of interconnected volumes that follow the natural topography of the site, minimizing the visual impact of the building while maximizing panoramic views toward the surrounding forest and mountainous landscape. The stepped configuration creates multiple terraces and outdoor spaces, allowing different areas of the residence to maintain a direct relationship with the surrounding environment. Casa Belas

Everything has been carefully planned in every detail to create a very special house, combining tradition with the best techniques of bioclimatic architecture. João Guimarães The plot was carefully laid out to get the best sun exposure and protection from the north winds, without giving up the beautiful views of Sintra mountains, the Castle and the Pena Palace. Each room has its own indoor and outdoor space, be it an exclusive garden, a patio or a balcony, which doubles the private living area. Otília Freire's landscaping takes advantage of the rocky outcrops and existing trees and transforms the plot into a vibrant, low-maintenance and sustainable garden. Frame Wood

Frame Wood is a contemporary timber house that reinterprets the traditional half-timbered structure through a minimal and monolithic lens. The project celebrates the expressive nature of the wooden frame, allowing its tectonic language to shape both the exterior and interior. Caption Instead of replicating the familiar pitched-roof silhouette of classical half-timbered homes, the design adopts a barnhouse form – simple, compact, and bold in presence. The result is a calm architectural volume that merges modern restraint with structural honesty. Caption A double wooden beam defines the horizontal rhythm of the main living volume, while a light steel frame contrasts with the timber in the carport area, adding precision and l... More

Casa da Mata

We were approached by residents to transform a typical condominium house from the late 1990s, with wooden roofs with many slopes and small windows and doors, into a house with contemporary architecture adapted to the family's needs in 2021. Manuel Sá Manuel Sá Manuel Sá The two main objectives were clear: to integrate the social areas and to make the house open to the gardens with a view of the horizon. To achieve this, it was necessary to demolish walls and make structural reinforcements to support the new spans of the integrated spaces. small family house

The design of a small house on a theoretically large plot (1220m2) although seemingly easy, was a significant design challenge for us. Although the plot is large, only the part with an area of 382.5 m2 is a plot that can be built on (according to the local spatial development plan). The building part of the plot has a triangular shape, which in combination with the other parameters from the local spatial development plan (including at least 45% of biologically active area and at least 2 parking spaces for passenger cars) was a significant limitation but also a challenge. RESE Architekci Fortunately, the investor contacted us before purchasing the plot in question, which allowed us to analyze all the limitations and possibilities of... More

Curving Modern

The most striking feature of this home are the razor-edge roof profiles and the fact that those roofs swoop both vertically and horizontally. It is really an evolution of modern design. It uses all of the typical architectural rules of modern home design and takes it to the next level. JMAD JMAD JMAD JMAD JMAD JMAD The roof forms serve functions on the exterior. They overhang to provide shade during the warmer months and then create a really unique transition from the single story portion of the home to the second story. Plus, they take form in the great room with a curved ceiling form above that transitions up to the second floor, creating a timeless architectural element.  JMAD JMAD JMAD... More

Introspective House

The building’s structure is composed of 5 volumes connected by a common allure. This is done to ensure maximum privacy for each family member: 8 people from different generations will live here at the same time. Caption Caption Caption The functionality of each volume is seen in the architectural design: the blocks with the cantilevered roofs, the characteristic of the Kerimov Architects signature, are for residential areas; and the flat ones are for the volumes of a common living room and SPA. Caption Caption Caption All viewpoints face the inner courtyard to hide from the c from prying eyes in a densely built villa community; and a forest. Hutton Drive 2641

The Site  As hillside design specialists, the Whipple Russell team sometimes finds it necessary to move mountains – or at least part of one, in order to create a spacious yet intimate modern home. To accomplish these goals for our Hutton house, we first cut into the rear hillside to maximize backyard living space and to site the house further from the street in the front. At the back of the property two porcelain stone retaining walls create a balcony lounge area with a fire pit and greenery overlooking the saltwater pool, spa, and the entire property including multiple firepits, and an outdoor kitchen/bar. An Ipe wood walkway bridge leads from this upper seating into the primary suite.  Adam Latham Adam Latham F... More
