Fairy Huts

In the quiet landscape of Prapashticë, Kasollet e Zanave—literally "Fairy Huts"—nestles where people, animals, and nature share the land, and simple architectural gestures gently build upon existing farm structures. The design approach developed by Maden Group is rooted in the concept of environmental interconnection; architecture acts as a mediator between people, nature, and tradition. Rather than replacing what existed, the project builds upon it, using natural materials and spatial strategies that emphasize continuity and authenticity. Located in open land, the project is defined by traditional structures and a strong connection to nature. The vision was to transform an existing farm complex into a multifunctional hospi... More

Children's Grove on the hill

Located in the southern part of Újbuda hills, between the prefabricated apartment blocks from the socialist era and a modern housing area of real estate developers, Madárhegy has been populated mainly with small garden apartment buildings in the last ten years. Many of the new residents are families with children, so there was a significant demand for children's facilities. Recognising this, the municipality has planned a development including a nursery, kindergarten, a paediatric clinic and a public playground. The architects and landscape architects wanted the design to evoke the original grove feel of the site. Thus the "children's grove" was born. Balázs Danyi The site is divided into functional courtyards by... More

Edenland Pedestrian Bridge in Luxelakes

DESCRIPTION Edenland Pedestrian Bridge in Luxelakes  - An Alternative Expression of Natural Order Arch-Exist Edenland Pedestrian Bridge connects LuxeIsland and Edenland in Luxelakes, aimed to enhance the connection between the community clusters, parks and green spaces, and commercial areas of the space. Arch-Exist Here the newly constructed Edenland Pedestrian Bridge differentiated itself from other winding pedestrian bridges in Luxelakes with an aest... More

Refúgio Vocatus

Conceptually, this project follows the line of the series of nature refuges designed by this office, in other words, privileging nature. The simple shape of the straight lines, in an attempt to cancel out the landscape, shows that what matters most is the outside area of the refuge. The rectangular monoblock configuration of the refuge in a flatter conformation in the landscape is a reminder that this place, embedded in the Atlantic Forest of southern Brazil and full of araucaria trees, is a destination for contemplating the stillness of nature and family life in the atmosphere of living in a way that is disconnected from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Casa Metepec

Comfort and coziness were two of the premises behind the project.Together with them, we care for the environment, making it part of the house. As a result, we ensure the quality of life of the inhabitants. The proposal introduces some materials not typically used on site.   Ethelett Orientation. The first important decision was the orientation of the house. This is in Metepec, Mexico. The weather of the place is cold at certain hours and times of the year. We proposed the south orientation. In this way we capture the sun’s rays during winter. At the same time, by means of small overhangs, we avoid them in hot seasons. We also exploit another local weather feature. Metepec has wide temperature variations throughout th... More

SGA Residence

Sharing News! REDA has received an award with its SGA Residence project within the scope of the 14th Western Mediterranean Architecture Awards organized by the Antalya Branch of the Chamber of Architects. Main idea behind the design was to create a sustainable building, using natural materials and emphasizing their natural beauty. It was relevant because the site allows a natural sunlight and is located in a very natural environment, surrounded by olive groves. The structure was placed on the east-west axis, taking into account the climate of the region, the benefit of sunlight and the dominant Taurus Mountains view during the settlement. Cocoon

Cocoon is the new outdoor armchair designed by Massimo Iosa Ghini for Smania. The generous ovoid-shaped seat, resting on a stylized circular base, recalls a welcoming nest, whose maximum comfort is guaranteed by padded cushions that embrace the aluminium structure. The wire frame texture of the casing accentuates the light design, giving those who sit the idea of being almost suspended between earth and sky, in a sort of fusion with the surrounding nature.   MASSIMO IOSA GHINI   Considered one of the most prominent Italian architects and designers on the international design scene, MASSIMO IOSA GHINI (Bologna, 1959) participated in the Eighties in the innovative activities of the design avantgarde, founding the cultural mov... Bespoke Petrol Station

The Journey The wild scenery of Attica, with its rocky hills and olive trees, on the way to the busy port of Lavrio, is the site of this " bespoke" Shell petrol station. Rejecting  the pre- fabricated images of Shell petrol stations chains, that are brought directly to a site, while ignoring its characteristics, was the original source of the idea for a custom-made space that allows the User to be an active participant with the surrounding nature. The building was conceived in such a way that time, porosity, movement, transparency and materiality were the starting points for spatial exploration. Time The journey engages time: a quick time of simple petrol filling, an intermediate that allows for using shower, shop and toilet facilit... More
