At Walter-Benjamin-Platz in Berlin, a 370 m² office space once characterized by dark corridors and closed-off rooms has been reimagined as a light-filled, modern workplace. What was previously a traditional cellular layout has evolved into an open and representative environment that is functional, inviting, and flexible. We designed a flexible office environment on two floors in Berlin for the mobility start-up Mobimeo. The objective was to create an interior that supports an agile, individualised workflow while being adaptable to varying team sizes. ACTINCOMMON was tasked with the design and interior fit-out of an office space accommodating nearly 500 employees. Collaborating closely with the Corporate Real Estate department, we developed an innovative, modular office concept spanning six floors. By incorporating sustainable materials, biophilic design, and natural elements, we created vibrant, dynamic spaces that enhance employee well-being and creativity. From garden baths to an amusement palace with a revue theatre - the Admiralspalast on Berlin's Friedrichstrasse has been constantly showing new faces since its opening in 1911. With the sensitive redesign of the upper floors as the headquarters of a digital service provider, Kinzo Architekten have managed the balancing act between eventful history and a future-oriented working environment. Since its opening, the Admiralspalast has proved to be a place of many possibilities.
