With the new SAP Labs Munich Campus in Garching, SCOPE Architekten have created a forward-looking office building that reflects the urban and academic vision of Science City Garching - one of Europe’s leading research centers. The project marks a milestone in the long-standing partnership between SAP and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), bringing together around 600 employees and 120 researchers to collaborate on future topics such as sustainability, mobility, Industry 4.0 and commerce. GRAFTLAB was conceived as a laboratory for modern working environments within the creative industry and fosters new collaborative formats through a focus on flexibility and cooperation. Located in the heart of Berlin, its open, transparent design represents the significance the creative sector plays in the city. In the context of future-oriented work formats - from conventional office presence and digital transformation to remote working and third places – GRAFTLAB provides ample scope for collaboration and coming together. Completed in 2022 on the Garching campus of the Technical University of Munich, the "TUM Centre for Functional Protein Assemblies" (CPA) spans approximately 4,800 square metres and unites various scientific departments under one roof. We designed a flexible office environment on two floors in Berlin for the mobility start-up Mobimeo. The objective was to create an interior that supports an agile, individualised workflow while being adaptable to varying team sizes. Collaborating closely with the Corporate Real Estate department, we developed an innovative, modular office concept spanning six floors. By incorporating sustainable materials, biophilic design, and natural elements, we created vibrant, dynamic spaces that enhance employee well-being and creativity. From garden baths to an amusement palace with a revue theatre - the Admiralspalast on Berlin's Friedrichstrasse has been constantly showing new faces since its opening in 1911. With the sensitive redesign of the upper floors as the headquarters of a digital service provider, Kinzo Architekten have managed the balancing act between eventful history and a future-oriented working environment. Since its opening, the Admiralspalast has proved to be a place of many possibilities.
