Villa JJ is located on a cliff on the shoreline of Stockholm's southern archipelago. The climate here can be harsh, nature is shaped by rain and storms as much as by sun and drought. The local building tradition is characterized by simple buildings, often gathered in clusters to provide protection for each other, such as fishermen's sheds or small farms. The houses were low, clad with wood boards, gray or almost white. On the edge of Washington's embassy quarter at 3200 Whitehaven Street is the Embassy of Denmark in the USA – a modernist building that borders the scenic Dumbarton Oaks Park to the south and west.  The land was bought in 1952 by the then ambassador, Henrik Kauffmann, and it is located in one of Washington's highest and best located areas. He made the land available for a new embassy to be built. The former embassy no longer met the current needs – it was not flexible enough in its layout. A new, modern building would be able to meet requirements for both safety and efficiency and require less maintenance. Inspired by the architecture of English villages and townhouses, the Regiment Park is 34 terraced houses in a village-like structure with small façade jumps, diverse spatial qualities and a high quality materiality. Rasmus Hjortshøj The homes at Farum’s old barracks plot are located in a dense structure with the qualities of English terraced houses. Despite being individual homes, the houses are small units of a homogeneous areal whole. They have small facade jumps, a diversity of spatial qualities, and contact with a beautiful green park. In the beginning of the fifties, Vilhelm Lauritzen draw and designed the People’s House for the Employee’s Association. The construction of the house began in 1953 and completed in 1956. On the outside the house is decorated with a three floor tall façade (RELIEF) by the artist Dan Sterup-Hansen. Designed to blend into nature and match yet respectfully renew the existing mellow and discrete college architecture of Gerdt Bornebusch. Elegantly placed and intertwined with the sloping terrain, the two villas on Flesaasveien have a simple yet striking volume. The two buildings are positioned next to an existing house in a residential neighbourhood to the north of Oslo, Norway. The surrounding area is characterised by its green and open spaces. With a sensitivity to the surrounding context and site conditions, this densification project eases into the neighbourhood without overcrowding the site. A combination of curves and straight lines in the project gives a refreshing but modern addition. Kirsebærhaven on the outskirts of Copenhagen is a new type of apartment building developed by KHR. The dwellings are interwoven to create alternating entrances and gardens in the facade. This gives a social and visual dimension to the development, which naturally creates social interaction.
