Nordic modernism meets English townhouses

Inspired by the architecture of English villages and townhouses, the Regiment Park is 34 terraced houses in a village-like structure with small façade jumps, diverse spatial qualities and a high quality materiality.

The homes at Farum’s old barracks plot are located in a dense structure with the qualities of English terraced houses. Despite being individual homes, the houses are small units of a homogeneous areal whole. They have small facade jumps, a diversity of spatial qualities, and contact with a beautiful green park. A look down the narrow access road that spreads out into various distribution paths reveals a diversity of facade compositions with screened courtyards.

Characterised by simple, bright facades in white plaster with high-quality wooden sections, the street scene is Nordic modernism referencing a classic English village structure with townhouses.

The architecture addresses the green common space, and each home aligns with the park visually and softens the boundary between individual courtyards and the public green area. The low surrounding walls add natural seating and room for garden pots. Kitchens and living rooms are located on the ground floors, thus providing the greatest possible utilisation of terraces and park spaces.
