A celebration of family life within an envelope of detailed brick and rich, textured surfaces. On this project, our clients had very clear design references: a love of mid-century design, semi open-plan spaces, bricks, strong corners and views throughout the house from front to back. In some instances, happily, the clients know exactly what they want. This was one of those occasions. Auckland is an unusual city in that there are still tiny timber buildings within spitting distance of the central business district. The character and quality of these buildings is important in understanding the growth and settlement of the city, as well as its continually changing social and economic history. But how do you acknowledge that heritage and also create a contemporary living environment which reflect today? La Ceiba House is a four-bedroom residence set within La Ceiba Golf Club in Mérida, Yucatán. Developed in collaboration with Sauning Studio, the design is organized around an open-air living concept that blurs the boundaries between interior rooms, terraces, gardens and the pool. FORMM Creative Group Minimal architecture provides a calm frame for the lush surroundings. A full-height glazed rear facade creates visual and physical continuity across the house, while each principal space is oriented toward direct views of and access to the landscape. In the landscape of the Euganean Hills, in Abano Terme, the Ville Thalia project reorganizes a plot through the composition of two distinct building bodies: a single-family residence and a two-family building. The intervention chooses a contemporary architectural language, based on the clarity of volumes and the control of proportions, distancing itself from traditional forms to assert its own geometric identity. In the province of Padua, the Villa Victoria project stands out for a precise stylistic choice that moves away from conventional white standards to explore the richness of dark and enveloping tones. The intervention works on the density of the space, where light serves to enhance the tactile and chromatic quality of the surfaces. The generating element of the internal composition is the chestnut oak floor.
