In 2016 the Faculty of Health Sciences launched a design competition for an extension to a locally listed educational building dated from the early 1900’s. The task of the Patrimonial and Universal Library is the housing and protection of Cultural and Intellectual Texts– a foundation stone of the intellectual community.For the BnL a compact, energy efficient building volume houses a wide range of functional entities. A transparent imposing, but at the same time inviting, facade fronts onto the Avenue John F. Kennedy. Amid an ever densifying downtown – Peabody Plaza carves out a pocket park to create an even more vibrant Nashville. Located on a bluff overlooking the Cumberland River and adjacent to Ascend Amphitheater, Rolling Mill Hill is positioned in a vibrant live, work, and play neighborhood. The domestic program of this terraced house is developed in a single floor of 12 x 15 m, located half level higher than the plot. This piece crowns a semibasement hall of the same size and multipurpose use. It opens at the outer ends, linking with ramps the street and the back garden. The glazed doorways provide natural light and allow transforming it into a large porch.   Above this semibasement the house has been built with precast concrete panels, which work as large beams in order to save the span of the basement. Brunswick Power Terminal Station is located approximately 5 km north east of Melbourne’s CBD within the suburb of Brunswick East. Whilst the facility has been in operation on King Street since 1939, an upgrade was required to provide an alternate energy source to secure electricity flow to the CBD and inner suburbs. Dunalley House on the Tasman Peninsular is a project for a young family recovering from the dramatic loss of their family holiday retreat during the devastating 2013 Dunalley bushfire. The 10ha property was left scorched and barren. The original holiday home destroyed while the family watched from the foreshore below. The client brief was for a primarily concrete building: solid and protective yet connecting with the expansive outlook across Dunalley Bay. The Purpurina building was built in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, a bohemian neighborhood currently undergoing a process of intense transformation. Even though it is located in a street corner and has a great location in the neighborhood, the building’s plot is difficult to occupy due to its reduced dimensions.   Betting on the plot’s potential, the owner asked for a flexible building, and after its completion, it was occupied by a fast casual hamburger restaurant and bar with a surf theme.   After a thorough study of the surroundings, it was established that the street corner, where the plot was completely walled off, would be free of any obstacles and open for pedestrians to traverse. The Center for Health and Wellness is a 45,000 square foot academic and recreation facility that contains teaching spaces for the Department of Nursing and Physical Education, as well as recreation spaces for students, faculty, and the Eastern Long Island community. Shooting Star is an 8,650 square foot vacation home designed by Blaze Makoid Architecture. Situated on the Jackson Hole valley floor at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the home is surrounded by the picturesque Teton Mountain Range. The homeowners, an active family of five, love nature and are avid skiers, as well as kayakers, runners, golfers and bikers.
