The owners of this property acquired the apartment with the intention of completely renovating it, adapting it to the needs of a family of four. Functionality and comfort were the main priorities of the project, without losing sight of aesthetics. The apartment, with a regular shape, features a layout that maximizes natural light, especially in the daytime areas. An open space integrates the kitchen with the living-dining room, creating an airy environment with a smooth flow. This open layout enhances everyday convenience and dynamism, connecting with the rest area, which is divided into two parts: on one side, a master suite with more privacy, and on the other, two children's bedrooms and a second bathroom.

After being rented out for some time, the owners decided it was time to reclaim their Barcelona home and tailor it to their current lifestyle and preferences. The project aimed to restore the character of this historic 1895 apartment, retaining the distinctive features typical of Eixample homes—such as high ceilings, exposed beams, original brickwork, and tall balcony doors—while reconfiguring the layout and introducing modern decor elements.

Casa Puerta del Mar
After the birth of their second child, they decided to move closer to the city center. They were also looking to gain more space, storage, large terraces to enjoy the good weather in Valencia, as well as spacious and interconnected multipurpose areas. This is the essence of this turnkey comprehensive renovation project, and the rationale behind the design, execution of the work, furnishing, and decoration of Casa Puerta del Mar by Mas Millet Arquitectos.
