The project involves the renovation of a 1960s apartment overlooking Parco Bolasco in Castelfranco Veneto. A central volume, clad in color, organizes the home and defines its perceptual structure: it concentrates the service spaces, separating and at the same time connecting the living and sleeping areas, becoming the fulcrum around which the space is articulated. Gallatin Residence is located on 100 acres of former farmland in the upper Hudson Valley. Our client, who lives in New York City, had owned the land for more than a decade before approaching our practice to design a new home on the property. Through that time, he worked to gradually restore the site to its pre-agricultural setting by removing invasive plantings and clearing unhealthy growth from the surrounding woodland. On Rua da Junqueira, in Lisbon, Fragmentos has completed the rehabilitation and extension of a building known to the city for decades as the warehouse and shop of Mitera, a longstanding retailer of plastics and vinyl. The residential house is located on the north-eastern outskirts of Tashkent, in a low-rise residential area surrounded by a canal, gardens, and a traditional mahalla. The site is accessible from two streets, creating two contrasting sides of the property. The house is oriented primarily toward the gardens, while the upper floors open views toward the surrounding landscape and, on clear days, the mountains beyond. Many heritage renovations, villa or bungalow, tend to involve some degree of ‘blowing out the back’ to extend living space. The footprint of this two-storey heritage villa in Epsom, however, was capacious enough, and rather required the removal of a series of ground-floor building accretions that had been added to back of the house, and their replacement with a new dining room and veranda. Designed as a quiet sanctuary for reflection and communal living, Priest Home in Aluva reinterprets retirement housing through an architecture shaped by light, restraint, and contemplation. Located in Aluva, Kerala, the 9,000-square-foot residence is envisioned as a retirement home for ten priests, providing a serene environment that supports both solitude and shared daily rituals. The project forms part of a larger residential campus where collective functions including the kitchen, dining hall, and chapel are already accommodated within an existing block. A typical urban residential plot in Bengaluru, India, measuring 200 ft by 50 ft and oriented east–west with a gentle slope rising towards the west, comes with a unique twist. While two sides are bordered by dense housing — as is common in the city — the other two remain open. Most notably, the western edge opens out to a no man’s land atop a hill, guaranteeing no future construction and providing an uncommon sense of openness within the dense urban fabric.
