Science museum

The proposed Museum of Science in Rome is a dynamic hub for science, architecture, and nature, designed as a levitating structure that restores urban space to the city. By lifting the building, we create an open-air plaza - a vibrant social and learning hub for all ages. A transparent, porous volume connects the suspended museum to the city, housing an auditorium, research spaces, and exhibitions, all linked by a glazed atrium and grand ramp. A public theater offers free screenings, while a rooftop garden with panoramic views transforms the skyline, creating a new urban landmark. ADAT Studio’s proposal for the Science Museum of Rome is based around an open-air building that will redefine the traditional museum experience by creating a public and shared space that focuses on the relationship between history, humanity, and nature and how these subjects engage in constant dialogue. The new layout of the Museum of Natura l History and Academy of Sciences, hosted in the former "della Rosa" monastery of the Camaldolese Order in Siena, is the result of an operation with attention to the pre-existent, without ignoring the interpretation of new requirements deriving from the functional and systemic upgrades, expressed in a contemporary, restrained and wel l-ca librated language.
