EACH house is a commercial house located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The client wanted to build a building with private residential space and a commercial space that could generate rental income. Although the 52.9 m2 land seemed somewhat insufficient to build a house, it was judged to be a suitable location for planning the space the client wanted as it faces a wide road and has high accessibility to public transportation.

Design of Seoul-based jewelry maison combines Korean artisanship and nature
The Paris-based architectural design studio Jouin Manku has completed the design of jeweler Van Cleef & Arpels’ new maison in Seoul, South Korea.

Following previous collaborations with the heritage French jewelry brand, Jouin Manku worked on the building architecture, interior architecture, and interior design of the jeweler’s new Korean premises. From the outset, Jouin Manku endeavored to embrace Korean architectural principles, reflecting the country’s vast cultural wealth, and thereby testing the agency’s vision of a more Eurocentric style of building design.

Ogindan Dandan House by SML accommodates multi-generational living within a dynamic brick volume
In a quiet residential area of Seochon, Seoul, the Ogindan Dandan House by SML sits at the edge of a mountain ridge and prominently above a busy road, showcasing the home's stature from its east, west, and south elevations.

When viewed from the east, the house sits above a retaining wall adjacent to the main road. Views to the south are to the distant Namsan Mountain, while to the north are views of Bukaksan Mountain and Cheong Wa Dae. Seoul development sees an experimental yet respectful transformation of a Mangwon-dong building
Located in Seoul, this Mangwon-dong building is a former residential complex in a rapidly changing new commercial area. Originally constructed in 1974, the building has been expanded and transformed several times and is now the home of coffee/tea café Eert, who together with Workment Architects have transformed the building into an experimental space that continues to respect the memory of the old building and neighbourhood.
