EACH house is a commercial house located in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The client wanted to build a building with private residential space and a commercial space that could generate rental income. Although the 52.9 m2 land seemed somewhat insufficient to build a house, it was judged to be a suitable location for planning the space the client wanted as it faces a wide road and has high accessibility to public transportation.
The house was designed by placing one function on one floor. The name of the house is EACH House, meaning that each floor contains its own story. Neighborhood facilities for rental income were planned on the first and second floors (a wine shop is currently open), and single-family homes were planned on the third and fourth floors. The third floor has a study, bedroom, dressing room, and bathroom, and the fourth floor is used as a kitchen and living room. The balcony, which was created in compliance with the direct north sunlight regulation, provides a great outdoor space even though it is small.
